Hello friends! Happy Friday! How was Halloween? We got home just in time to celebrate. The rumor came, I made some tacos and we went trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. It was low-key and wonderful; the perfect celebration after a whirlwind of adventures in Orlando.
(On our cruise, 9 of us were Wizard of Oz characters. Take a moment to appreciate the Pilot’s Lollipop Guild outfit lol)
I have SO much to say about the trip (the Reimagining Health Summit and our Disney cruise) and I’ll put it all together in a few recap posts next week. My plan was to finish them on the plane but I ended up sleeping all the way home! I was totally floored.
This weekend will also be a lot of fun: it’s the pilot’s change of command (after three years as command, it’s over!), our school auction and a big event for the National Charity League. Here gooooo. I’d love to hear what’s going on!
(I wanted to share some pictures of the ofrenda I made for this year’s Día de los Muertos. I wish I could keep it like this all year!)
*Also a friendly reminder to VOTE! Election day is the last day to vote, but I’m going today after picking up the crew from school.
It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party. Here I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love to hear about your favorites too, so shout out something you love in the comments section below.
11.1 Friday’s Faves
Fashion + Beauty + Random:
My lips have been extremely dry in the colder weather – Tucson went from 105 to 70 overnight – and this is mine lip balm.
J Crew is 30% off right now and i look these straight jeans.
This dress!! I got it from Rent the Runway for the awards dinner at the summit and I want to keep it. Perfect for dressing up for a more classic event, a dinner party or even dressing up for work. The fabric was so dreamy too. In stock here in black.
Read, watch, listen:
Punching my way through Survive. It’s very good, and I like how neat it is, but it’s very dry so far. I love it when writers inject a little personality, wit, or humor into their work, and it takes me forever. Definitely up for some fluffy fiction after this. 😉
What tattoo would you get? I am definitely one and I ended up here… and I honestly regret mine a bit. I like it sometimes, but I also wish I could remove it for fancier events. Usually my hair hides it.
Updating your life and career to match who you are now.
Fitness, health, life and good nutrition:
These bars! They were out of stock for a while because EquiLife was bringing out a new baker… and now they’re back and the texture is even better. They are soft and cakey, with all real ingredients, and kids love them too.
Chocolate is my favorite, but we all love apple cinnamon too. If you place an order here over $149, get a box free! i would do one detox kit to prepare for the January detox, a full spectrum magnesium, and an additional container of Daily Nutritional Support (I have this every day). My code is FITNESSISTA10 if this is your first time ordering!
The Therasage Weighted Blanket. I don’t think I’ve ever given it a proper voice on the blog, but I love this stuff, especially in the colder weather. I’m the type of person who can’t sleep without a real comforter – I always ask for extra blankets when hotels only have sheets on the bed and pack the travel weight blanket – and the extra weight helps me sleep better at night. If you are an anxious person or toss and turn, I can’t recommend it enough. This it has crystals instead of beads and added EMF protection. Use code FITNESSISTA for discount!
It just stays on my side of the bed like this:
The effect of GLP-1 on muscle retention.
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!
xoxo
