7 Sunday Self Care Rituals With Some Of My Favorite Things

I am grateful that more and more people are talking about the importance of self-care. It’s an essential part of mental health care and I’m pretty sure (don’t mention it!) it can add years to someone’s life. 🙂 I find Sundays to be the perfect day of the week to treat myself to some delicious TLC because the pace of the day is naturally slower so I can take my time and it’s a great way to wind down the week coming (to quell your Sunday fears! ).

7 Sunday Self-Care Rituals

  1. Stretch. When I first wake up, I like to do some simple yoga stretches in bed (apasana and dove supine it’s my passion). While I stretch, I like to set an intention for the day, something to focus my thoughts on. Today’s intention/mantra was “I will lead with my heart and be love.”
  2. Dress up (or down). Then I like to dress in a way that best suits my mood, be it comfortable, cozy, sexy, cute, etc. It could be a flirty gold bar dress stud earrings or broken sweat, as long as it feels good in my skin, it’s a treat. No matter what I’m wearing, often bold lips and winged liner are part of the whole shebang. They make me feel me.
  3. Enjoy your tea time. I think I might have been born in the wrong country haha. I drink tea all day every day like a Brit. 🙂 Drinking tea is somewhat meditative and definitely calming. I like some matcha, earl gray or any variety of those Buddha tea. Their chakras are some of my favorites.
  4. Squeeze in a workout. Barre and hot yoga have been my jam for the past year. Sweating to good music + releasing endorphins was essential to my mental well-being. I feel much more grounded and clear after an intense workout. Btw, the outfit in pic is from Ellie Activewear.yoga capital
  5. Nom healthy, delicious food. Sure, I crave pizza and junk food from time to time, but my favorite feel-good meal is a colorful whole bowl of whole grains, veggies, and a tasty dip or fruity oatmeal. Lately I’ve been digging the Harvest Bowls and Oatmeal Cups from Daily Harvesta vegan food delivery service that has a variety of prepared meals. I love that they are simple, affordable, easy and convenient. Sometimes on self-catering days, I’m too lazy to fully cook, so these come in very handy. 6. Take a relaxing bath. Since I almost exclusively take baths anyway, on my self-care days, I love to love bubbles, bath salts, and bath bombs. Yes, all three at the same time. Life is too short. Go extra with your bathrooms! And sure, I’ll scrub and clean, but most of the time, I just soak, get plummy, and listen to my favorite tunes. Of. O. Better.
  7. Dry brush and massage my body. I have incorporated many Ayurvedic rituals in my beauty routine, especially after bathing, including dry brushing (pretty much what it sounds like, I dry brush my entire body in the direction of the heart) and Abhyangaa self-massage with warm coconut oil or sesame oil. Oh, so divine! I highly recommend trying both!

What are some of your favorite ways to take care of it? xx
