Share this quick and healthy snack recipe for Crispy Chickpeas!
Hello Hello! How’s the day going? We are relaxing here at home and relaxing today. I’ve been studying, cleaning, engaging in retail therapy, and cooking some delicious food. I made one of my favorite easy stir fry recipes, super tasty chickpea stir fry and wanted to share the recipe with you.
The kids and I LOVE the Bienas Chickpea Snacks (we order them from Thrive Market!) but they tend to be a bit more expensive, especially when the three of us consume a bag in one sitting. I was looking at them the other day and thought it would be a fun experiment to try roasting chickpeas to make them myself.
It was much easier than I thought and I made a huge batch which we enjoyed yesterday afternoon. These will definitely make another appearance as part of meal prep and packed lunches for the kids.
Crispy Ranch Air Fryer Chickpeas
Crispy Ranch Air Fryer Chickpea Seasoning
2 cans chickpeas or garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
Avocado oil (you can also use olive oil)
Seasoning of choice. Since I made a version of the homemade ranch seasoning, including onion powder, garlic powder, dried parsley, dried dill, dried chives, salt and pepper. You can also use ranch dressing mix or go wild and use anything but Bagel seasoning, dill pickle seasoning, curry, whatever!
How to make crispy chickpeas from the deep fryer
Step one
Drain and rinse the chickpeas. Dry gently with a paper towel. Preheat air fryer to 390.
Step two
Brush the chickpeas lightly with a little oil and make sure they are completely coated.
Step three
Prepare the spice mixture in a separate bowl. Mix well and sprinkle the chickpeas with the spice mixture.
Step four
Add the chickpeas to the fryer and make sure they are spread evenly in one layer. Season gently with salt and pepper.
Step five
Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the air fryer basket occasionally, until golden brown and crisp, about 12-15 minutes.

And a short how-to video:
Tips for using the fryer:
– Do not be afraid! I was afraid for a long time, and also didn’t think it would be “worth it” in terms of counter space. Worth it. We use it almost every day and it’s especially amazing for anything frozen, like potatoes and veggies. Fries are a deep fryer’s dream, let me tell you.
– Make sure there is room in the fryer basket for air circulation. You don’t want to pack it in completely.
– If you are looking for an easier cleaning option, you can get some air fryer parchment.
A question for my deep fryer friends: my only slight complaint is this ours is coated with Teflon non-stick material. I am looking for one with a stainless steel basket if you have any recommendations!
Please let me know if you try this recipe. 🙂
Have a great day and see you soon.

Don’t have an air fryer? Do not worry! You can make a roast at 400 degrees on a cookie sheet for about 35 minutes. I have a recipe for BBQ Chickpeas here!
