Before and After Photos
I played with a few shades and chose shade 9N Tupelo as my best mate. Always best with neutral undertones and this pretty much disappears into my natural skin tone.
For reference, my ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF30 shade is a 7. The shades in the ILIA Skin Rewind Complexion Stick do not correlate to skin tone shades, which is important to note.
My ILIA Skin Rewind Complexion Stick Review
I always really enjoy using a foundation stick because it’s so easy to use and they fill up when you need it. Just a few swipes and a quick blend and you’re good to go.
I think my favorite foundation stick so far has been the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Foundation Stick. It was so hydrating and cooling and just melted into the skin. People haven’t talked about it enough and I have a horrible feeling it’s been discontinued. I really don’t understand what is going on with bareMinerals, they had so many great products but it just doesn’t seem to be going in the right direction.
I have to say that the new ILIA Skin Rewind Complexion Stick is very similar in terms of skincare focus and shade range. It came right at the beginning of time.
bareMinerals felt more watery and was very cooling, while the ILIA formula is slightly thicker in texture and more matte in finish. Although it is not a flat matte and still allows the skin to show its natural glow.
The ILIA Skin Rewind Complexion Stick is great on pores and really blurs their appearance and makes skin look much smoother. It’s easy to blend and build and can be effortlessly layered in areas where you need a little more coverage.
Thanks to its soft matte finish, the formula adheres very well to the skin and stays nicely in place. I found it lasted very well on my combination skin. I have a little cold and have been using tissues, and just needed a little top up around my nose.
The formula is nice and forgiving on the delicate eye area so it doubles up really well as an under eye concealer. It covers redness and pigmentation well and is a very good multi-tasker.
What skin type is Skin Rewind best for?
ILIA say Skin Rewind was designed to be suitable for all skin types. I think it’s really great for oily skin types with a soft matte finish. Also, dry skins will love the barrier-boosting skincare ingredients.
What is the difference between Skin Rewind Complexion Stick and Super Serum Skin Tint?
The Skin Rewind stick has medium coverage and a natural matte finish. Super Serum Skin Tint is a liquid formula with light coverage and dewy finish, plus SPF 30.
Does Skin Rewind Stick work on dry skin?
Although it has a matte finish, I think it will work really well on dry skin as it has a lot of care and also a nice emollient formula. I think a light later than a rich moisturizer would be a great prep if you’re worried about it not being cool enough.
Which shade to choose in the ILIA Skin Rewind Complexion Stick?
Is the ILIA Skin Rewind Complexion Stick matte in finish?
Yes, this formula is designed to give a natural matte finish, however, it’s not a flat matte and allows the skin’s natural glow to shine through.
Is it good for mature skin?
Yes, the ILIA Skin Rewind Complexion Stick will be great for mature skin types as it promises anti-aging benefits over time.
