Hello friends! How’s your day going? I hope you had a wonderful morning. Last night, I went to a super fun event at Creative Tribe with some girlfriends. We got to learn about tarot cards – don’t worry I won’t change my online business lol- and we embroidered a tarot card bag. Creative Tribe has so many unique craft events and is BYOB so you can drink wine from a Yeti cup. Not a bad way to spend the evening.
Casual everyday mom outfits
For today’s post, I thought I’d share some of the casual mom outfits I’ve been wearing lately. I love getting outfit ideas from friends, especially the kind of clothes that I can wear everyday and look *put together* for all the things I do during the day: chasing the girls around, working, running errands , play dolls on the live room floor or kick a soccer ball outside with the kids. I would love to live in lulu 100% of the time, but I find that I feel better and am more productive when I take some time to dress in non-athletic clothes. (This post features an entire workout outfit because #reallife)
1) Everlane button with Jean shorts and one scarf headband
(with these sandals)
I got this idea for the headband Jess and it’s a fun trendy detail and way to hide the fact that my hair needs washing. This shirt was my first order Everlane and I will definitely try more of their tracks. (I wasn’t sure about the size and I’m usually between a 2 and 4 for tops. I ordered a 2 and it worked great. I might try a 4 if it’s something that fits better) It’s the perfect fit daily white button down: light, not too transparent and washes well. These denim shorts are super comfortable and easy to incorporate into different cute mom outfits.
2) Express black romper with embellished sandals (<— the black is gone, but the blush is only $40!)
This romper it made me realize how easy it is to always wear black. Before, I could never understand why people had all black wardrobes and I totally do now. Simple, classy, flexible, boom. Plus, you can easily throw on a denim jacket if you need an extra layer. These sandals they are my guests. They go with so many things and I always get compliments on them. If you are looking for more effortless casual outfits, I highly recommend this one.
3) Dress with stripes with low sneakers (<— part of Anniversary Sale! They’re down to $85 from $130 and public access starts tomorrow)
This is mine favorite dress right now! It came in a recent Trunk Club shipment and while it was a little pricey, I’ve already worn it a ton. (Note that it runs a little large, so if you’re between sizes, size down.)
4) lululemon shorts with V-neck T-shirt and APL in secret
I needed some new pairs of lulu shorts because… my butt got bigger haha. So this is what I found floral and I really like the print.
5) Athletic shorts and Tank with embellished sandals
(That’s all is in the chart above since the ones I wear usually aren’t available in black)
It was my first time trying Athleta’s non-athletic clothing and I’m a big fan. The fabric is light and breathable – essential for the Tucson summer – and flattering. I’ve heard their jeans are a dream too.
6) T-shirt and jean shorts with sneakers
This is another one of my favorite mom outfit ideas. It’s similar to the first outfit, but even more casual. For this look, I simply grab a graphic tee or striped tee, a pair of versatile denim shorts and a pair of white sneakers. This effortless, yet modern outfit is a mom’s style staple.
7) Dress shirt with sandals
A classic shirt dress is another great option for moms. Whether you’re running errands, snacking at soccer practice, or trying to enjoy a quick dinner date, this dress makes it easy to look stylish and put together.
I also feel like I’m in a rough phase of life when it comes to fashion. So often, I find that the styles are too young or too mature. I need something between a mumu and a crop top with a high-waisted skirt (<— very cute, but would no doubt raise a few eyebrows at preschool exit).
Where do you get your everyday outfits? Where is your favorite place to shop? Lately I’ve been ordering everything from Nordstrom mostly, just because they have so many different things and an awesome return policy. I’m also a big fan of his Trunk club; many of the above outfits came from these shipments. If you have any favorite stores or online resources for casual wear, let me know!
(Also, do you like these guys or posts or not?)
I hope you have a great day and I’ll see you in the morning!
