Hourglass has introduced a new liquid blush in dropper form called the Unreal Liquid Blush ($36 each). They also added a new one No. 15 Blush Brush ($46) which is around the corner to go along with the new release. The Hourglass team sent over all the shades for review and I have swatches and a closer look today.
These Unreal Liquid Blushes they come in a small bottle with a dropper on top. For dispensing there is a soft button on the base that you press to dispense a drop. They recommend dabbing on the back of your hand and picking up the product with the brush and applying by stippling.
The product is very pigmented but with some fluidity, so it’s easy to blend and build. There are seven shades and I think the color range is very good. The tones are very flattering although most of them are on the warm side with 3 being peachy/coral so if you prefer cooler tones they might be too warm.
- Scene it’s a nude pink, this pulls very natural on my skin but still shows up
- Whim it’s a bright pink, that’s my favorite
- Vision it is a warm rose
- Dot it’s an orange
- Future it’s a coral with a hint of pink
- I imagine it’s a burnt orange
- Vessel it’s a berry
The formula applies very easily without being runny. I also love how easy they are to apply and blend. Another plus is that these didn’t remove my foundation or powder when I blended it over my foundation. The shade Craft took a bit more effort to blend smoothly as it contrasts the most with my skin tone. They stay dewy on the cheeks after blending, but not as dewy as the Pat McGrath Divine Cream Blush.
The Unreal Liquid Blushes they are described as being able to last up to 12 hours, but that wasn’t the case for me. While the color stays on the cheeks for a while, after 3-4 hours or so the color faded on my cheeks and they looked more dewy than when I first applied it. I think they will last better in cooler weather, but even in cooler weather I don’t see them lasting a full 12 hours.
She is seen wearing every shade of blush with a coordinating lip color. For skin tone reference I wear it Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 6.5.

Overall I like the colors, even if there are too many peach/orange tones (just my opinion though). I like that the pigment level is easy to control. Lasting power could be improved, but that would mean they would have to change the formula and end up with something less cool.
The brush is very well made and works beautifully for blending. I absolutely love Hourglass brushes, I have quite a few in my collection and use them all the time. But I think you can use any in your collection.
