Spring is on its way, but the weather is still cold enough here to warrant some skin favorites that are good for dry skin and transitioning temperatures. This month’s favorites are many for skincare, but I’ve also included a favorite for the spirit.
Here’s what I like about February:
Living Libations Cell Serum & Dew Dab
Living Libations is a very interesting brand. I came across them when I was traveling home for Christmas and this Canadian Indie brand does great things with the ingredients and all the love they put into their products.
My favorites this month? Their Dew*Dab & Cell* Serum.
Dew*Dab is the right treatment for your skin: a powerful serum for fine lines, hyperpigmentation (those little red bumps on the face that aren’t acne), small bumps, scars, discoloration and blemishes. It’s a more rounded spot treatment – yes, lines and acne. While the ingredients are strong, it is gentle enough to use undiluted on areas of “interest”. 🙂 Its pure and wild-crafted ingredients include undiluted essential oils of Cape Chamomile, Rose Otto, Cypress, Frankincense, Immortelle and Lavender. And is it a smell? Divine!
Cell* Serum on the other hand is a phyto-nourishing face food that penetrates cells for cellular respiration and rejuvenation. Powerful antioxidants enhance dominant cellular function. Another cool blend of ingredients in one serum includes organic: cumin seed, broccoli seed, jojoba oils, with MSM infused with sea buckthorn berry, frankincense, cinnamon, chamomile, lavender, turmeric, and immortelle. ****Be careful now though – this will (probably) make your face flush and flush for about 30 minutes. Don’t worry, but be prepared. Cinnamon and cumin bring blood to the surface of the skin infusing the cells with fresh oxygen and nutrients. I would recommend not putting it on just before a date ;)****
So what is the science behind turmeric? We’ve seen it twice now (before we saw it in Vintner’s Daughter). Substances such as cinnamon and turmeric contain phytonutrients that contain mild electrophiles, (the ability to attract electrons), upregulate the body’s protective transcription factors, thereby activating anti-inflammatory proteins that protect the skin with the added benefit of inhibiting of enzymes that break down elasticity. and collagen.

Concealer Love: Hynt Beauty Duet Perfecting Concealer
Ok so a few weeks ago I did a concealer round up when I was desperate for something effective for my under eyes (a little more sleep might have been good but this time of year can be difficult). I found some great products on my trip to Copenhagen (read the post about concealers here) but hadn’t come across this one yet amazing natural corrector. Well, this literally catapulted me to a whole other level of concealer love (yes, that’s a thing and I just made it up). That’s it, an official LPN favorite. Under eyes, over blemishes, anything that needs a touch-up, Hynt’s Full Coverage Concealer Duo is lightweight (doesn’t settle into lines after proper blending) and hydrating enough to keep dry skin from looking cakey. Just a little dabbing will do.

Dry Skin Savior: Herbal Gypsies Dream Catcher Face Lotion
Winter skin blues are still my nemesis these days — even though the days are getting longer here in the north, the chilly air still finds ways to keep skin dry. So to all my boho babies, this herbal concoction from Herbal Gypsies.
Made with moringa oil, coconut oil, shea butter and vegan wax, this face cream is super hydrating, nourishing and natural. Essential oils of patchouli (helps with excess oil), frankincense (firms skin), bergamot (fights bacteria) and jasmine (invigorates skin) make this a beautiful nighttime moisturizer (facial aromatherapy? Yes please! ). All products are created with non-toxic, organic, herbal gems. moringa powder (which they harvest themselves) 90+ vitamins and minerals, antioxidants and omega oils boost skin radiance by reducing fine lines and dark spots – antioxidants help fight free radical damage, while Vitamin C helps reduce fine lines and Vitamin A helps build collagen in the skin.

LPN’s Luxe Choice: Maya Chia Astaxanthin + Chia Ultra Luxe Face Oil
Hmmm hello? Where have you been all my life? There’s something going on in the natural beauty industry these days, and it’s nothing short of wonderful. Every time I turn around I feel like another amazing facial oil is coming out of the woodwork. This month? I love the Maya Chia Super Couple Astaxanthin Chia Ultra Luxe Facial Oil (that’s a mouthful!). This nutrient-rich oil/serum combination is a multi-corrector. Here’s why: rejuvenates aging skin by fighting inflammation, prevents and reduces wrinkles, increases skin firmness, lightens age spots, brightens skin tone, hydrates and protects against free radical damage.
What makes this oil so awesome? First supercritical chia seed oil (packed with omega fatty acids, antioxidants and minerals), then astaxanthin extract, which is from a type of green algae that has been shown to have more than 65 times the power of vitamin C to fight free radicals roots (clinically proven) – Ouch! It also contains a host of other skin-loving ingredients such as Jasmine Absolute, Bulgarian Rose Absolute, Sandalwood, Carrot Essential Oil and more.

Body Love: Saharjan Organic Body Ritual Ayurvedic Oil
In the last post, Kelsi talked about Ayurvedic massage to boost our immunity. Looking for the perfect oil to start this ritual? Here is! Ayurvedic Sahajan range focuses on purity and organic Ayurvedic ingredients that are effective on your skin. Sahajan puts the word “ritual” in his body oil for a reason, massaging with natural oils is an important part of Ayurvedic treatment, but it’s not easy to find the time. So use the time you take to apply body lotion after showering to gently massage the body to awaken the lymphatic system and help stimulate the body to eliminate toxins. As you would with a dry body brush, move the oil up towards the heart as you massage it. Focus more attention around the neck, around the chest and under the arms to release accumulated toxins and even reduce stress.
Key ingredients include coconut oil, which deeply hydrates, sesame oil, which is used to tone the skin, and almond oil, a rich source of vitamin E which helps repair skin from oxidative damage.

Mel Millis is a pure hydrolyzate, extracted during the essential oil distillation process. This is only 100% certified organic flower water. Wellness Read: You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay
Louise Hay is a great writer when it comes to helping us dig out those uncomfortable things and get real. She is well known for saying “If we are willing to do the mental work, almost anything can be cured.” Having cured herself of cancer, she has a lot to say about the roots of illness and the idea of ’disease’. This book has been a best seller for many years and it is no surprise.
But before you do, be ready to hear the truth. If you’re not open to hearing it, then this book will sit on your bookshelf for years. Open your heart and head to the idea that yes, we can heal if we choose to face the problem head on. If we recognize where the roots of our difficulties really are.
This little book could really change your life if you heed its words of wisdom.
