10. PBJ hair
PB and J hair is a new hair color trend inspired by everyone’s favorite childhood food (except mine because it’s gross).
According to Allure Magazinethe trend started with Maryland hairstylist Megan Schipani on her official Instagram page (@shmeggsandbaconn). Since her client couldn’t have full rainbow hair, they decided to go with deeper reds, purples and caramel.
The result? Peanut butter and jelly hair.
9. Slate Blue
I love the idea of blue slate aka denim hair for the winter.
It’s really more of a grayish color with blue undertones… and since blue and gray are colors usually associated with winter, this is the perfect way to show your winter spirit.

8. Frozen Ombre
Ombre, balayage and melted color applications have been extremely popular for quite some time now. For the perfect winter, melt your choice of icy whites, silvers and blues into each other.
7. Peacock hair
Peacock hair isn’t necessarily a new idea, but it’s still super fun and stylish. I love the idea of using pastel blues, greens and violets to create winter color trends, and this look combines them all.

6. Rich Copper
Copper tones are super popular right now (see blonde hair) and bold shades are perfect for winter hair color. Incorporating rich copper hues into your winter hairstyle is a great way to transition fall into winter.
5. Burgundy
Like those rich copper tones, burgundy hair is a great way to make a bold statement this year.
Plus, this color is named after wine… and wine should be a staple in everyone’s winter diet. Rich, purple tones in burgundy hair color will boldly accent any winter hairstyle.
It’s one of my favorite winter hair colors for brunettes.
4. A Dark Color Melt
Did I mention that bright, vibrant colors are perfect for winter?
Think of it this way… bold tones are much harder to maintain in the summer (think: swimming, sun, etc.). But they will hold up much better in the cold winter months…so rock them while you can.
A fun way to tie in bright colors is with a dark color.
3. Light Ash Blonde
This is easily one of my favorite winter hair color ideas for blondes.
Since ash blonde has blue undertones, it gives it a wintery feel, but still remains work-friendly and not too over the top. It can be applied as an all over color, as highlights or even in balayage.
đź’ˇEND: Pair with a dark root smudge for extra trend points!
2. Silver hair
If you liked ash blonde, you’ll really love silver hair… it’s about as cool as hair colors go.
There are so many different shades of silver and gray hair, but any of them would be perfect for winter.
1. Opal hair dye
A few years ago, I featured opal hair in one “Trend Watch” article… so even though it’s not a new look, it’s still trendy and super fun.
These holographic shades remind me of the sun reflecting off snow or shining through icicles. It’s a killer way to show off your winter spirit!
