Merit holiday sets are here! I got the Mini Flush Blush Balm Trio ($ 39) and the Archival Lip Essentials Gift Set ($ 52). Both are available now in Surf. You can see both in action here and here If you want a live demo.
Archival Lip Essentials Gift Set
THE Archival Lip Essentials Gift Set It has three full lip elements with a new shade called Archival. The set includes a light lip blush, lip lip signature lip, lip lip lip and colored lip oil.
The pencil and lipstick pull very cool. I wasn’t sure they would work for my skin and my rim, as most cool colors look gray for me, but they work! And the sheen really pulls the whole look together.
The value Lips Signature Absolute Investment It is very different from any other investment in the market. It is almost like a lipline glossy lipstick. Unique for sure and nice for those who like a minimalist look. I like to slip on the lips and have this glossy finish. The constant power is not as far away as a matte, but I think it’s really interesting.
Lip blush has a very light feel, it is a thin type of lip product, but the pigment is still very good. The texture is smooth even if it is matte. This is very different from their other Lipstick. I tried their lipsticks a while ago, when they started and it was not a fan. They felt a little about wax for my taste, but I could give them another look, since so many of you love them. The new blush for the rim in this set is almost like a widespread matte lip instead of a regular lipstick. I am still a glossy lover of the lip in the heart, but I like the texture and finish of the lip.
Lips oils It’s nice for a slim shade. They also pull the huge side for me, but I really like over a lipstick to add dimension and shine. They are very thin in texture so that they are not sticky. Also, since the texture is thin, they will not have too long power, but they remain longer when combining them with lipstick or lining.
I shared a demo of lipliner and oils in this position here in April. I don’t think I posted a blog post on them, so I put the shades I have so you can see the new archive tones next to some of the existing colors.
Mini Flush Blush Balm Trio
I had such mixed feelings about Merit Redlying Cream because they are usually very cool and clean for my skin but many of you have asked for a criticism of this year Mini Flush Blush Balm Trio set. This year was definitely a transition year for me with movement, aging and skin changes and was significantly drier. I am still in the process of finding a dermatologist since we moved, but because it was drier, I can wear more creams.
I think these are so cute, but I still think they are very cool and creamy for my taste. They are fun for a beautiful color and if you are in red cream that combine in a clean shade or like this cool look then I think they will really like them.
I will be able to wear them for a night out, but it will probably have to overcome them with a redness to adjust. For a cool red cream, I think Dior’s backdrop sticks are better. For something that is not so cool the Victoria Beckham Cheeky Posh Cream Blush or Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks are better choices (for me).
Le Bonbon is a bright but unfolding pink
Redux is a black brown shade
Postmodern is a wine -colored type of stain
I really love the look with these mixing them, I just wish they were not so cool looking. A satin or semi -matte finish would be 100% perfect for me.
If you have your eyes, I hope this review is useful! You can find them now in Surf.
