I hesitate to say I’ve got my makeup mojo back because I feel like the moment I say that I’m going back to wearing only eyebrow pencil and tinted sunscreen for three years like one does, but I’ll go ahead and take a chance and say it all started with a little Club.
You know, MAC Club eyeshadow? Of course yes. It’s a classic.
Last week, out of nowhere, I thought to myself, “I really need to wear the Club.” It’s been years since I wanted to dabble in complicated eye makeup, but the urge hit me, so I went for it.
My makeup collection is pretty barren compared to MBB’s long beauty blogging days, but I’ve been holding on to this ancient Monster’s Bride palette since —I don’t even want to say the year. LOL! I’ve always loved shadows, especially Club.
I took some of the Club, popped it on my lids and smoothed the edges with a fluffy brush dipped in face powder.
Oh, and this is where I realized that you can get behind the urge to blend eight different shadows on your lids, but you can’t get over the urge to smooth the edges of your shadow into a nice gradient, ha ha ha!
Anyway, like I said, Club. It will forever be etched in my heart as the eyeshadow that helped me get at least some of my makeup mojo back. Since that day last week, I’ve been feeling like putting at least one shade on my lids. I think it’s not too difficult, right? I can do this. Moreover, I want to do it.
So yeah, lately I’ve been wearing an eyeshadow shade from my lash line to my mid-crow area, and you know what? It makes me so, so happy.
And that’s all I really want for makeup, you know? I just want it to make me feel happy when I wear it.
I want to feel good when I wear it, and right now a little MAC eyeshadow is really nice.
Wish me luck with makeup and I’ll send you lots why not? ‘Tis the season to wear some eyeshadow!
