There is no tendency more indicative of the 2020s than the Revolution of Self-Lady. “What is your skin care routine?” ‘What do you use on your hair?’ They are signs of conversation where I know I found my people. I notice that when dealing with self -care conversations, skin care is MVP and hair care may be a visit to the living room every time. My skin care routine is stable and I’m sure it’s yours too. However, for self-care routine, skin care and hair care are just as important.
Our skin and hair share many of the same properties and foundations. They need repair, humidity and beneficial from treatments, masks and serums. Why won’t you treat them the same? My curly hair occupy about 90% of my selfie. I can go out without makeup, no problem, but a bad hair day is not negotiable.
This is what looks like a week in the life of my hair care routine, and spoiler warning, is Olaplex, Olaplex, Olaplex.
Just a week: Treatment and mask (my hair time for a person!)
Once a week (sometimes more if I feel extra), I treat my hair with the bond treatment system. This system includes two main ingredients of my hair care routine, a bonding treatment and a moisture mask. I apply the two treatments back to the back, starting with the Olaplex Nº.0 Intensive Bond + Olaplex Nº Nº.3 Hair. Think Nº.0 as a primer that enhances the benefits of Nº.3 for even more bond building (which means healthier hair). I apply nº.0 first to reduce my hair, then follow with nº.3 directly on top after ten minutes. After the two treatments sit on the head, the minimum time to remove is ten minutes, but I usually leave it for an hour and observe even better results.
Nº.8 is my moisture mask. My skin is of course super dry, as is my hair, making moisture an integral part of both my skin care and hair routines. After I have exceeded Olaplex treatment with Olaplex Nº.4 maintenance shampoo, I apply the intense Olaplex Nº moisture mask this is another mask where the minimum is ten minutes, but I leave it more. One hour seems to be my sweet spot where treatments feel luxurious and products work overtime for my hair!
3x weekly
I clean my hair once a week and co-flying about 3 times a week. This is my maintenance and protection routine, where I use the shampoo and Olaplex Nº.4 and Nº.5 Bond maintenance in the shower and then apply my Olaplex styling protective products. Whenever I wet my hair in the shower, whether it is clean or co-flying, I finish using Olaplex Nº.6 smoother smoother style with style and Nº.7 Bonding Oil. Think Nº.6 and Nº.7 as your daily facial products. Nº.6 smoothes and hits any flirting or freaks for up to 72 hours, moisturizes and increases hair management, which is excellent for a curly hair like me, but also fantastic for straight textures whose hair is easily confused.
Daily
In the morning and evening, I apply the Olaplex Nº.7 welding oil to the middle and ends of my hair. My hair absorbs any hydration product I apply to it, so I use a generous amount in the morning and in the evening for shine, humidity, ultraviolet protection, bond building and heat protection up to 450º f. For thinner textures, use a few drops in your media and edges. Your hair will thank you!
