Not necessarily. My mom made it clear that she wanted all of us to go to college or even to the technical school, but there was no great boost. I went to a private college for a year (paid with student loans) and left. I always hated school!
Growing up, what kind of conversations did you have for the money? Do your parents/guardians train you for finances?
There was no training or discussion of the economics that grow, unfortunately. My parents were not good with money. My father was addicted and spent many of our money very impulsively. My first and only money education came from my grade of finances in high school.
What was your first job and why did you get it?
I worked as a cashier at a grocery store at 17. I got the job so I could have my own money and buy cute clothes, lol. It was fun though. They were all high school kids in the evenings, so that it was a lot – I’m not sure we were worth $ 7.25 and time we did!
Are you worried about the money that is growing up?
Absolutely. Our phones and lights were closed from time to time. My parents fought a lot about it, so it caused a lot of anxiety and shame.
Are you worried about money now?
Yes, it’s something I think more often than it should have been. Our mortgage is over 25% of our income and this is not ideal for me, but the housing market is just confused right now and I’m afraid to be poor. In addition, I would like my savings to be greater. It was $ 10,000, but car repairs and veterinary accounts hit hard this year, but I’m working to build the rear.
At what age became financially responsible for yourself and have a financial security net?
He became financially responsible for myself at 18. I went to college at 18, met my husband and abandoned after a year, got married, took jobs and moved to an apartment together. As soon as I moved to college, I had no financial help from anyone. (Certainly not a route I would recommend to anyone so young, haha!

I got $ 1,000 when my grandfather spent 10 years ago.
