Yes, she was rooted in me from an early age you graduated from high school and then attend college. It wasn’t even a question in my mind that I would take this path. I attended a four -year state school in the same state I grew up. My parents fully covered tuition as well as a room and boat. I was responsible for anything else (manuals, living expenses, etc.).
Growing up, what kind of conversations did you have for the money? Do your parents/guardians train you for finances?
My mother is extremely economically I understand and taught me many financial lessons, including the importance of saving and does not spend more money than you have and how to ensure that your future self has been created for financial success. I still rely on it for economic education even today – I ask regular questions about investment, taxes, insurance, etc. You call it, my mom and I talked about it.
What was your first job and why did you get it?
I started babysitting at 11 to make extra money and continue throughout the Gymnasium and College. My first W-2 job was in an ice cream store just turned 16 and was legally able to work.
Are you worried about the money that is growing up?
No, not at all. Growing up, I never went without anything I needed or wanted (in reason). However, my parents made a point to avoid spoiling us, so I was not given money or allowance as soon as I was big enough to work. I was expected to finance anything “extra” and is expected to contribute to the purchase of my first car and the expenses that went with its maintenance.
Are you worried about money now?
I don’t know if I would say I’m worried, but I’m constantly thinking about it as I manage the finances in our family. I am worried about our ability to be able to buy a home in the semifinals-while we have a decent part of the saved money, with increasing prices and mortgage rates with poor lenders, the goal continues to reach farther. IVF is also a huge cost for which we have the money, but I struggle with the thought of sacrificing savings and investment to finance it.
At what age became financially responsible for yourself and have a financial security net?
Honestly, 24. My parents helped with my rent after college while living in New York, as my whole salary would be my rent payment. As soon as I moved with my husband, I became fully financially responsible for myself. However, I know if we have ever had financial problem, my parents and my laws could help us-and will do so fortunately.
Have you ever received passive or hereditary income? If yes, explain.
My parents paid for college and both they and my laws paid for our marriage.
