Yes. My parents were waiting for my sisters and I went to college, and it was something we all wanted. I am lucky to have parents who started saving for my brothers and when we were born, so our college chapters paid for our undergraduate degrees. My parents helped me in part in the postgraduate school, but I also lent. I was also a TA for part of my time that covered my full tuition during these semesters.
Growing up, what kind of conversations did you have for the money? Do your parents/guardians train you for finances?
My parents have always emphasized the importance of saving money and spending consciousness, despite the fact that they should never worry about it. My mom is an important sales buyer and my dad will not activate the heat until it is less than 30 degrees out in the winter. While we were never “trained” for finances, these habits and attitudes were certainly rubbing my brothers and myself.
What was your first job and why did you get it?
My first job was as a ballet teacher when I was 16 years old, in the studio I danced as a child. I got this job because it was what all teenagers did in the studio and it was nice to have my own money to spend that age. I didn’t get this job out of the need, it was only part of the studio culture.
Are you worried about the money that is growing up?
I was lucky that I shouldn’t have worried about the money they grow up. My parents had fixed full -time jobs and allowed us to participate in the hobbies of our choices and go to the colleges we wanted. My sisters and I never got benefits, but our parents would give us money occasionally to go and do things with friends, so we usually didn’t have money to go out and go through whenever I think they kept us conscious about it we spent.
Are you worried about money now?
I wouldn’t say I’m worried about money now, but I’m extremely conscious. I know I’m fine, but I also know that my situation now on a tour, where I don’t pay for rent or car will not be permanent. I am actively trying to save my salary as much as possible and by Diem to build my savings and pay my loans, which can be a challenge on the tour.
At what age became financially responsible for yourself and have a financial security net?
I became fully financially responsible at 25, when I graduated with my doctorate this May, as my parents helped me a little during my entire school training. I did a time between Undergrad and the PT School during which I worked and was financially responsible for myself.
Have you ever received passive or hereditary income? If yes, explain.
As I mentioned earlier, my parents were able to cover my degree in the full, due to a college fund who had contributed since I was born and not waiting for them to come back for it. They also helped me with rent during the school, but I intend to refund this amount.
