The Sephora Savings Event kicks off April 5th for Beauty Insiders and I’m rounding up my absolute favorites in each category, starting with my Hair Care favorites. Event dates and details, use code YAYSAVE if you shop online:

  • Rouge Members 20% Off: 4/5-4/15
  • VIBs 15% off: 4/9-4/15
  • Insiders 10% off: 4/9-4/15
  • 30% off entire Sephora collection: 4/5-4/15

A little background on my hair: I have thick unruly hair prone to frizz from humidity. I do color treatment with root touch up every 2-3 months. I almost always blow dry as air drying leaves my hair frizzy. Even though my hair is thick, I had a lot of hair loss and thinning about 2 years ago. The shedding thankfully stopped and the baby hair started growing back (natural growth).

I’ve divided my recommendations for things I’ve tried and liked by category to help you sort through my list. There are many wonderful ones HAIR CARE SET available and a wide range of items is available in MINI SIZE which is great to try.

Hair tools

Dyson Airwrap Ceramic Pink

I really love love it Dyson Supersonic and Airwrap. I have had the Supersonic since 2017 and it still works great like the day I got it. I have been using Airwrap since 2020 and I really like it too. I think they are a game changer for the way I style and dry my hair. Yes, it’s a huge drain on the wallet, but both were worth it. They recently added a Ceramic Pink and Rose Gold color (limited edition) and I decided to upgrade both of my tools with this new color.

The Dyson Airwrap it has been updated since i bought it the improvements have made it noticeably better! Attachments have minor design changes to make them multi-functional.

(new demo with the new airwrap soon, but here’s the original below)

Dyson Airwrap Styler

If you don’t curl, I would recommend that you do Ultrasonic. It has stronger air flow with the nozzles for faster more efficient drying. It’s easier to travel with (if you’re not using the case).

That said, I think the Airwrap is amazing. It allows you to do so many different things in styling and drying. I will say that the curls take longer than a regular curling iron because you will need to use it on wet hair, use the heat and cool options, and add hairspray. It’s easier to use than a regular curling iron for me because of the wrap feature. With the Airwrap I can have looser beachy waves which is what I prefer, but with a hot curling iron your curls will definitely last longer.

The ghd Platinum+ Styler it’s my go-to tool for straightening and curling. It’s technically a flat iron, but I use it to curl my hair. The temperature is set at 375 degrees and has sensors to maintain constant heat. This leaves my hair looking smooth and sleek. It goes with me on every trip. I have done some reviews and demos with this tool. 100% recommend. Smooth, sleek hair in action HERE. Easy waves HERE.

Shampoo + Conditioner

Oribe Home & Away Gold Lust Repair & Restore Shampoo & Conditioner Set

I have been totally obsessed with Oribe and Kerastase lately. They are the formulas I keep coming back to.

Oribe Gold Lust Repair and Restore Shampoo and Softener they are the best formulas I use and repurchase the most. I have overflowed the liter bottles and am refilling them. They are quite expensive, but the larger sizes are a better buy. If you are new to this formula, I suggest giving it a try #Oribeobsessed Mini Trio or that Gold Lust Ritual Set (price price).

Kerastase Premiere Line it’s new and incredible! It’s just what I needed to clean and clear my hair from the hard water in Florida. Even with the water conditioners, the water is still too hard on my hair here. Most detox and clarifying shampoos almost always strip my hair or irritate my scalp. This Premiere range is the formula I’ve been looking for to clarify and restore my natural glow.

I think you need the full system to see the best benefits. I only tried it with the shampoo and conditioner but with the Pre-shampoo treatment it made a HUGE difference. My hair hasn’t felt this healthy and clean since I left California. If you don’t want to chatter the whole line, I’d say stick with it Pre-shampoo treatment, Restorative Shampoo and Softener. The Serum it’s incredible for sanding and protection from heat and humidity. Since this is a repair line, I don’t think I would use these everyday, it would probably be a once a week routine.

Kerastase Premiere series

I’ve tried almost every Kerastase formula on virgin hair, hair with bleached highlights and now on hair that has root textures. They have a formula for every hair type.

  • Nutrient it’s the ideal range for dry hair and I really liked it.
  • Resistance it is very good to help strengthen weak hair from heat styling
  • Discipline is the anti-frizz smoothing of their line
  • When I had bleached hair and highlights it Blonde Absolu was my line

Also, I still think the Olaxplex and Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair formulas are great. I just used up a few bottles of Olaplex. I haven’t used Briogeo in a while, but it’s one I’d buy again in a heartbeat.

The best masks

Hair Mask K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Leave-In Molecular Repair

My favorite hair mask formulas:

Color Mask Wow Money it is an excellent moisturizing treatment

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair Deep Conditioning Mask it is best for smoothing

Kerastasis Resistance Enhancement it’s great for split ends and weakened hair, it smells amazing too

K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Leave-In it’s a mask, but I still think it’s 100% worth the hype

Best Hair Oils / Hair Leave-In

Kerastase Elixir Ultime Hair Oil Serum in Sephora Review

Kerastase Elixir Ultime Hair Oil Serum Review

Kerastase Elixir Ultime it’s one of the best hair oils I’ve tried

Virtue Hydrating Healing Oil it is excellent for smoothing and repair

Olaplex No 7 Bonding Oil it’s great for split ends

Shu Uemura Essence Absolue it’s another great hair oil for added shine, but it can feel a little heavy if you use too much

The best heat protectants / primers with a dryer

Oribe Royal Blowout Heat styling spray

I will mainly use a heat protectant primer on wet hair to blow dry. There are other heat protectants designed for use on dry hair for heat tools such as flat irons.

Oribe produces many heat protectants. I like them a lot Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray the Imperial Blowout Styling Cream.

Kerastase makes tons of primers in all their formulas. I have really loved Resistance, Chronologist the Nutrient the more.

Olaplex Blow Dry Mist is another great option that also adds volume.

Best dry shampoo

Olaplex No.4D Clean Volume Detox Dry Shampoo

Three formulas that I really like that don’t add a white cast to my dark hair include Olaplex No 4D Clean Volume Dry Shampoo (probably my favorite right now), the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day PhD and PhD Advanced (both are great) and if you want to chat it up Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo it is excellent.

And more

Best Detangling Spray Oribe Detangling Primer

For other miscellaneous styling products, here are three that I really like:

That wraps up my favorite hair care post! I know there are a lot, but I hope this helps give you some recommendations if you are looking for some new hair care.
