Chanel launched a new blush formula called the Joues Contraste Intense Cream-To-Blush ($52, available at Chanel.com). It comes in five shades and the formula is amazing. I picked these up at my local beauty boutique and fell in love with the soft texture of the cushion. These are soft creams that have a nice drying powder. In a world of dewy blush trends, it’s hard to find a cream formula with a good dry and satin finish and the new ones from Chanel are just what I’ve been looking for. They almost have a subtle blur effect on me and I love classic shades.
The name has the word “intense” in it, but these aren’t really that intense. They can be built up in color but 3 is more natural and 2 is bold with the bold bright shades but very easy to blend.
Lasting power is pretty good but I don’t think I could get the full 12 hours of wear time and for me that’s 100% okay. The lighter beige shade seemed to fade faster on me, but it’s close to my skin tone. I haven’t given each shade an all-day wear test, but the other two that I’ve tested for a long time lasted well for about 4-5 hours for that fresh look.
These are more on the soft matte side, but have a luminous shimmer quality without the shimmer.
- Beige Eclatant it’s a soft beige on me, it’s barely visible in photos but in real life it gives a very soft glow
- Rose Radiant it is a soft warm rose
- Rose Ardent it’s a cooler pink rose
- Franco Rouge it’s a bright hot warm red
- Grenat Profond it’s a berry

I’ve tried them with my Chanel brushes and I’m not usually picky about which brush I use as they’re usually very versatile and multi-tasking. I really liked the little vault though Precision powder brush N 107 the best for them. The size and shape are perfect. Everything works well, I just love the shape of this formula.

Love bottom line. You can find them now at Chanel.com.
