It’s been ages since I’ve tried any new makeup from Clarins, but I’ve been dying to try Clarins Wonder Volume Mascara XXL as they’re one of my oldest favorite brands and they always feel very dear to my heart. I have so many of their skincare products in my favorites. I am happy to say that this new mascara is fantastic. Here’s the lowdown.
What is Clarins Wonder Volume XXL Mascara?
The point of this new release from Clarins is that it’s not just a mascara. The formula is packed with lash conditioning ingredients to strengthen and lengthen:
- Formula for eyelash stimulation
- It consists of 86% skin care ingredients to protect and care for the eyelashes
- Provides optimal volume and length
- Enriched with Clarins Volumizing Wax Complex
- The formula glides seamlessly onto the lashes
- Uses saturated black pigments
- Waterproof
- Moisture resistant
- Easy to remove

My review
It was love at first sight with the Clarins Wonder Volume Mascara XXL and I have to say it made an extremely good first impression. I absolutely love it. I tested it for a full day, with a Peloton ride, and it couldn’t have performed better.
I found it really easy to apply and I can have pretty clumsy hands when it comes to applying mascara but this went on effortlessly.
The brush is great for picking up each lash and coating each one very quickly. It lifts and curls them really effectively and one hand is enough for visible volume and length. It’s a very quick job.
Lashes stayed lifted and defined for the whole day, and every time I looked in the mirror, my lashes looked gorgeous and shiny.
It didn’t smudge, budge or flake and made my lashes feel beautifully flexible and never felt stiff or crunchy, even with multiple coats. However, it is not waterproof, so if you have overly watery eyes, this might not be for you.
This is a big win for me and I look forward to seeing the future benefits that extended use will bring. Apparently tests have shown that the volume of bare eyelashes can increase by 25% after 28 days of use. I’ll try to stick with it everyday to see what happens. Obviously it’s too early to tell now.
