Dior Beauty started new bronze in two different forms called Forever nude bronzer ($ 52, available in 8 shades) coming in a soft shine and matte choice together with a Forever naked bronze jumbo ($ 64, available in 4 shades) in an oversized compact.
Both come in a stunningly sewn mirror compact that has an extremely luxurious feel. These are soft bronze with floral gardenia/jasmine as a fragrance (I can’t detect exact notes, but it’s a nice floral).
The Bronzers started first on the internet and while both have recommended shades based on the color of your Dior foundation, I was still not sure of the color it would take. I ordered some to try based on their diagrams. The names and numbers in the normal choice are not the same as the jumbo that is a bit confusing. The normal size is shades in the arithmetic order 01, 02 to 08, while the Jumbos are listed in shades 10, 20, 30 and 40.
I wear either 2.5n or 3n on Dior foundations depending on the types. I have a medium tanning gold undertone that shifts depending on how tan I am. My winter shade pulls more olive and neutral while my summer shade pulls more golden. THE Forever Skin Perfect Foundation Stick It has the best races for me. I get a little more sun, so 3n is my best race now.
If you are completely confusing who to get, you are not alone. Here is what I bought and my thoughts in every shadow. Beauty distribution for what I wear below:
Dior Forever Nude Bronze (normally sizes)
Dior Forever Nude Bronze In normal size is what I like most because of the shades. I love that they have a soft version of Glow and a matte, though in my skin the shine looks matt and I can’t really say the difference in finishing.
- 03 soft is almost like my skin, definitely remarkable but thin
- 04 hot is my favorite of what I tried, this is my perfect soft bronze shade, the name is misleading because it is not really “hot”, it is exactly what they called it
- 04 The hot matte is a little darker and cooler than 04 warm, similar to my skin but the matte version pulls darker on me
Dior Forever Nude Bronze Jumbo
THE Forever nude bronze jumbo bronzers They are so beautiful and if you are going to use a lot of bronzer, I like to have an oversized version.
- Shade 20 Medium Matte is the best choice for me from the two jumbos I tried because it is warmer in undertone.
- The shade of 30 black matte is significantly cooler in undertone and while it is a good bronze color, the cool tones end up looking gray and bad on my skin.
Overall a solid A+ for formula and performance. I love they are really soft and of course. I like the spectrum of underground tones and I think finding the right shade is a little difficult, since I know we all have different preferences for how hot or cool it looks. Right now I think 04 hot is my favorite and for jumbo one I’m partial up to 20 medium matte.
You can find the normal version in Cursor; Garlic; Bag; Macy’s.
Jumbo size is available in Cursor; Surf and Beauty ulta.
There is another day to shop Sephora with the Savemore code! Ends 4/14. I will post tomorrow my transfer but I don’t know if I will have time to give a complete criticism to the other bronze I got out but I did show them in this video here.
For those who asked here are some quick thoughts. I tried the new Haus Labs dust dust dust In Terra Sol Light Medium (third shade) and I’m still undecided. I searched multiple choices in the store and the sales partner believed that what I chose would be very light, but it is definitely dark on my skin. It has a beautiful texture with a soft glow on it. The product is a little difficult to get right in terms of application and it seems to be sitting on my skin. They look so beautiful with the hand, but they do not translate well to my face. The same is true for reddishments on the line. I love how they look in other tones of the skin, but they look very muddy on me.
Many of you were really curious about the Westman Atelier Suntone Hydrating Matte Bronzing Drops. I got the Soleil Parfait 2 shade 2 in the store. As a liquid bronze is so clean as you combine it, it disappears. I really like to mix with a liquid foundation everywhere. It definitely gives you a more bronze look, but in a delicate way. I think it’s similar to the Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi DropsBut the Westman Atelier choice has a more matte finish. So my thoughts are if you want a traditional bronzer, this is not the product for you (it’s just very clean). But if you are looking for something to mix with moisturizing cream or foundation for a crap shade, then I think they will like it.
