Eminence Staff Skin Care Secrets
Versatile facial cleanser
By now, you probably know the many benefits of charcoal in skin care. Derived from natural sources such as coconut shell, bamboo and oak wood, this ingredient has become a skin care staple due to its ability to treat pore congestion. Charcoal captures and removes impurities, balances the skin, and detoxifies — but its uses go even deeper. From sebum management to exfoliation and deep cleansing, charcoal is a powerful ingredient for treating all kinds of pore-related issues. And when it comes to breakouts and blemishes, we know they can appear in places other than the face. Heyamby, Director of Marketing Operations, uses the Charcoal Exfoliating Gel Cleanser to clean and exfoliate her back — an area we often overlook when we think of acne-prone skin. Many of our cleansers are not just for the face!
Clean Energy
Our Creative Director, Chu, likes to take off the warm, exfoliating sensation that comes with the Active Turmeric Treatment. Instead of adding water to turn the powder into a fluffy and energizing mousse, she uses Birch Water Purifying Essence to activate the product. Ingredients like snow mushrooms, reishi mushrooms, birch water and botanical collagen add hydration to the list of benefits that come with this unique exfoliating, revitalizing and deep cleansing experience.
Hydration Hacks
The secret to hydrated skin from Jennifer, one of our Digital Project Managers, is a game changer for all skin types. “I used the Stone Crop Hydrating Mist after cleansing my face to immediately moisturize before applying the Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum. I’ve read that hyaluronic serum is most effective when applied to wet skin, so I tried it on my dry skin and it helps lock in moisture.” He may have read it here and not be wrong!
Applying moisturizer to wet skin is also recommended for the rest of the body. Product Support Representative, Alicia, applies Yuzu Solid Body Oil in the shower to “boost skin hydration and lock in moisture.” Another great product to use on damp skin is Apricot Body Oil, which is packed with nourishing vitamins and moisturizing oils.

AHA moment
The Digital Marketing Coordinator, Nayeli, has a trick to help her waxing routine go smoothly: “I like to apply Pineapple Refining Tonique to my arms and legs 24–48 hours after shaving, followed by Yuzu Body Oil or Apricot Body Oil to help in hydration. I find the AHA in the toner provides gentle exfoliation, helping with ingrown hairs and dark spots on my legs and arms. I’d definitely say you’ll need to apply a good sunscreen to those areas afterwards, as AHAs make your skin more sensitive to the sun.” For more hair removal tips, click here.
Double Down Cleanse
Alice, our Digital Project Manager, has a dynamic duo to clean up in the morning. She amps up the healthy-looking glow she gets from Kombucha Microbiome Foaming Cleanser by adding a few shakes of Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant for a light exfoliation that leaves her skin feeling fresh and refined.
Helpful tips
Alyssa also has a hack for handling dry hands. “I put the Kombucha Microbiome Leave-On Mask on my hands at night! I check it after 10 minutes but there is usually nothing left to wipe off. It’s been so nice to my hands this winter.”
While we’re on the subject, Senior Production Artist, Yukiko, uses the Linden Calendula treatment on her hands at night when they are very dry in the winter. She seals it with cotton gloves and they are soft and moisturized from the morning. Other members of the Eminence Organics team have similar tips when it comes to adding moisture to hands. One uses the Bakuchiol + Niacinamide moisturizer morning and night and another swears by the strawberry rhubarb mask. After applying it to her face and neck, she rubs the excess onto the back of her hands and then washes everything off after 10 minutes.

As head of the product support team, Nadira is the expert on all things related to our compositions. He has tried them all and knows how the ingredients work and interact. Needless to say, we take her advice very seriously! We asked her to share with you some of her favorite ways to combine Eminence Organics products.
Spot treatment
“When my skin is a little oily and congested, I like to use Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant to exfoliate my skin. Instead of washing it off right away, I leave it on the areas where I have enlarged pores and excessive oil secretion. Keeping the product on allows the heilmoor clay and various polishing flours (rice, chickpea and oat) to absorb excess oils and remove impurities from the skin. Once it dries for a few minutes, I emulsify and remove before moving on to the next step in my skincare routine.”
Dollness Destroyer
Another tip she shares is to apply the Turmeric Active Treatment and let it set for about 10 minutes before applying the Lime Stimulating Masque on top. This double dose of antioxidants combined with added heat and vitamin C will brighten even the dullest complexion.
Perfect combination
Mixing and layering treatments and masks is a favorite pastime of many members of the Eminence Organics team. A suggestion for combination skin (oily t-zone and dry cheeks) is to use Acne Advanced Clarifying Masque on the nose and chin and a hydrating mask like Coconut Cream on the cheeks. Doing both at the same time saves time and leaves the skin fresh and balanced.
