Friday Faves 1.12

Hello friends! How are you; I hope you had a wonderful week! It was the kids’ first week back at school (wah) so we’re back to routine and I’m already counting down the days until Rodeo Break. <— it's an Arizona thing, but we always look forward to a few days off in February

What are you doing this weekend? We’re going to have a sushi and movie night, go on a hike, and meet up with some friends in Scottsdale. I hope you have a fun weekend!

I started one EquiLife 14 Day Detox before entering the CBO protocol. I’ll do a full post on everything, but let me know if I can help with any questions or include anything in the post.

It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party. Here I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love to hear about your favorites too, so shout out something you love in the comments section below.

Friday Faves 1.12

ZOE:

Liv is 12! I can’t even believe it. She’s officially a *tween* and so bright, smart, hilariously sarcastic, and I love her passion for dance, skincare, and music.

She asked for a homemade cake instead of a bakery cake, so P and I made her this:

We spent the day at the mall for shopping, boba and ramen with her best friend, and then we ate cake with my mom and Nana. Disneyland was her big celebration so we had a great low key day on her actual birthday.

Italki! I was googling ways to practice spanish and this one had great reviews. The short story is that my mother’s family speaks Spanish, but growing up, I would always answer in English. In college I took Spanish and read novels and wrote essays, but we spent very little time talking. So while I understand it very well and can write, and I much prefer Spanish music to English, I’m not very confident when I speak it.

I signed up for Italki and I did my first lesson this week. It felt so good to actually PRACTICE and get advice from a professional. I would like to eventually record some Spanish training videos or help clients 1:1 in Spanish so I feel this is a great stepping stone.

Read, watch, listen:

Last read. I feel like I can’t read it fast enough. it is full of incredible information. I want to do everything I can to help Mazer have a happy, healthy, long dog life.

Natural immunity boosts the needs of your whole family.

Any activity is better for your heart than sitting (even sleeping).

Fitness + good food:

Damn goodies! My friends at Sakara sent a taste of theirs January reset schedule, which I enjoyed earlier this week. It was a great treat when we got back from Disneyland. You still have two chances to join their Reset – I did a full blog post about it here and you can use XOGINAH for 20% off throughout the site. I’ve enjoyed the jackfruit barrio taco (very good), the protein banana bread, the apple cider muffin, the Thai curry bowl, and all the delicious, beautiful salads.

Four Trader Joe’s Meal Hacks. (The comments section is a treasure trove of recipes and combinations)

Peanut Butter Pretzel Bars

15 minute HIIT workout (no reps)

Fashion + Beauty:

My favorite jeans at the moment. Frilly but not too much and the perfect stretch. (Also on sale right now)

Free Beautycounter Giveaway Time! Check it out here and I would love to help with any grooming products.

Happy Friday, friends!
