Gluten free food tour of barcelona

Sharing a review of our experience with the Barcelona -free food tour.

Hi friends! What are you doing? I hope you have a great week. We enjoy returning home, even though we are definitely missing from Spain’s adventures. After 5 weeks in Europe, we certainly got used to this life 😉

Something we learned during our trip: how much we all loved Barcelona. It was our first time and since the pilot could not get to the trip – he was there for the last four days of our year there – we told him we just had to come back.

An important lead: The gluten -free food tour, led by the DVIR BAR.

As you know, we are big food and love to control new food and restaurants locally and when traveling. I am strict without gluten for two years now as part of my therapeutic journey, and back in January, we learned that P had a serious gluten sensitivity. While I was around the gluten -free block for a while, P still learns .. and sometimes (very understandable) it is remote when there is no gluten -free choice for it.

To illuminate Barcelona’s day, I did some gluten -free research and discovered that Barcelona was a gluten -free food refuge and that they had a popular gluten -free food tour. I signed us immediately.

When the day arrived, P and I were quite drawn about it. Liv was a good sport and excited to try out some new foods.

Our driver, DVIR, was absolutely wonderful. He spoke English (our team of 11 people were all Americans) and has been celiac disease for 40 years. He knew the best of the best spots in Barcelona and took us to six different places for gluten -free without gluten. We had chocolate, jamón, ice cream in gluten -free cones, pizza, pastries, empanadas, it was amazing.

I really liked how the tour was created. We walked all the time, and when we arrived at each point, they had multiple samples to try. At Pizza Restaurant, our table had five full pizzas of the best flavors. It gave us the opportunity to try many different things and we were very full and happy to the end.

While I do not want to destroy the surprises of the tour, here are the top three places we visited:

-Glutery for gluten -free Empanadas.

Chicken and onion were all …. I will dream of Empanada until we come back.

Look at this person. Pure joy.

– Cøliaki Bakery.

We tried a variety of gluten -free pastries, including Nutella croissants that put my soul free. Usually GF pastries are frustrating and they were light, tasty and absolutely sweets.

– Messi pizza.

Pizza is another thing that often frustrates me in the gluten -free world. They are usually extremely crisp, chewed and/or mild. This was the real pizza and we had to try some incredible flavors. I also had my first beer for years !! I think he said they have 40 different types of gluten -free beer?!

If you are gluten -free or without gluten for health reasons, or just love food and want to try new places, I can’t recommend this tour enough. Heads up that books in advance, so close your spot as soon as you know you are going to Barcelona. The link is here!

And just a head up, this is not sponsorship or something and fortunately we paid for our participation. I’m just glad to spread the word!

So tell me, friends: Who is your favorite destination for food?

Gluten -free friends: What is your favorite local food or gluten -free restaurant?

Xoxo
