Sharing some of my gluten -free meal tips.
Hi friends! Good Monday! What is the week that seems to you? LIV has a pretty low week at school for about half days, so I look forward to catching a few things around the house. We emptied the storage unit and passing by everything was a picnic, let me tell you.
Something that has saved my life since school started: Prep meal !!
Why do I like the preparation of the meal
When it comes to consuming healthy meals, Meal Prep is one of my favorite strategies. It saves time, money and its daily stress to calculate what to eat. It makes such a difference to have nutritious food ready to go. It is easier to get stuck with your health goals when you open the refrigerator and awaits you healthy foods.
Since P and I are both gluten -free and it’s homeschooled, I have done a lot of gluten without lunch. First of all, it may feel overwhelming, especially if you are young in navigating gluten intolerance. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, there are so many gluten -free foods that are ideal for meal preparation recipes.
Today, I wanted to chat a little bit about the gluten -free meal preparation: what it means, because it’s worth it (!), Tips for Success and Easy Free Recipes that you can try this week. (For more meal ideas, see this list of dinners that our family loved and This list of ideas for dinner.;
What is gluten -free meal preparation
Gluten -free meal preparation means simply preparation of meals ahead of the time they do not contain gluten: the protein found in wheat, barley and rye. This is especially useful for those who have celiac disease or gluten intolerance, but many people choose gluten -free food because they can help digestion, energy or overall well -being.
The beauty of gluten -free meal preparation is that it uses free choices you already love: vegetables, lean protein, beans, beans such as rice and quinoa and healthy fats such as olive oil. With the right design, you can enjoy tasty and satisfactory meals without the stress of last minute cooking.
What are the benefits of lunches that prepare gluten
Saves time
By cooking in a large batch, you can prepare the options for lunch, dinner and/or snacks for the whole week. Without wandering in the kitchen every night!
Saves money
Planning and preparation in advance helps you avoid precise withdrawal. If you need even more budget tips, check my post on cheap mealing ideas.
Supports a healthy eating
When healthy food is ready to grab, you are less likely to reach packaged snacks or fast food. The preparation of the meal maintains healthy meals in front of the center. For example, if I am hungry and open the fridge and see a pack of raw chicken, or a bag of chips, guess which will I pull out? The chips. They are ready and waiting for me lol.
Reduces anxiety
Having a plan means less “what is it for dinner?” Moments. It also takes the spiritual load of daily meal design. I know my friends Mama can be associated, but when you have everything for everyone in the family in your brain, taking meals from the image can release your mental energy.
Adaptable
Gluten -free does not mean boring! You can create a gluten -free meal plan that fits your taste, lifestyle and diet with endless free meal preparation options.
How a gluten -free meal looks like
A balanced gluten -free meal usually includes:
Protein: Chicken, salmon, shrimp, eggs, beans, tofu, beef
Vegetables and fruits: leafy greens, roasted broccoli, carrots, zucchini, peppers, cucumber, berries, melon
Smart carbohydrates: rice, quinoa, potatoes or sweet potato
Healthy fats: avocado, nuts, seeds, olive oil
When combined, these foods create filling meals and nutrients that are naturally free from gluten.
How to fill gluten -free meals
Plan ahead
Choose 2-3 recipes you can make in a large batch to mix and match for Combos dinner all week.
Save gluten -free natural foods
Think of rice, quinoa, beans, oats (certified GF), sweet potato and fresh produce. Staples’ possession makes lunch programming without stress. I think everything had to be a “recipe”, but the reality is that the existence of healthy combinations in a bowl of some kind of sauce or dress is all you need.
Use simple cooking methods
Leaf meals, instant saucepan recipes and pot dishes are easy and effective.
Section in containers
Divide meals into containers individual containers so that your free meal is ready. These are my favorites Glass meal preparation containers!
Add a variety
Change the sauces, spices or garnish so that the gluten -free meal does not feel repeated. I will make some sauces or sauces every week to jazz up to our meals. We love hummus, chimmichurri, peanut sauce (with gf tamari), salsa and homemade salad sauces.
