My Review of Hourglass No Lock Soft Matte Lipstick
Although I’m really into glossy lips at the moment, I was excited to try this new launch because I love the Satin Creme version of the Unlocked lipstick. If you want to check them out, read: Hourglass Unlocked Lipstick Review & Creme Lipstick Swatches.
First off, I think I should say, although these lipsticks are called Soft Matte, I think they are more on the full matte side. This isn’t a negative at all and the formula is absolutely gorgeous, but I’d say it’s matte rather than soft matte.
The shade I’ve tried is Tulip and it’s a gorgeous nude. The texture is soft and smooth and glides onto the lips straight from the bullet easily. The shape of the lipstick itself makes application effortless.
I paired it with one of the new Lip Liners (Hourglass Shape and Sculpt Lip Liner Review & Swatches) in the shade Expose and they work really well together.
The finish of the Hourglass Unlocked soft matte lipstick is super flattering and looks nice and soft on the lips. It is long lasting, easy to apply and reapply and does not dry out the lips. I am excited to try more shades.
The formula itself is quite versatile. You can use a liner and make quite a bold and bold statement, or alternatively, you can dab it on the lips and blend it out with your fingers for a softer, blurrier look.
The packaging is really great as always with Hourglass. The cases feature the Unlocked H and rabbit logo to signify that they are part of the brand’s collection created to support the Nonhuman Rights Project’s mission to unlock the cages of wild animals in captivity.
Hourglass donates 5% of net profits from all Unlocked products to the Nonhuman Rights Project.
