This holiday season Chanel is off to an impressive start Oversize Illuminating Face Powders ($95 each) in the Les Symboles de Chanel collection. There are five striking embossed patterns to choose from and each symbol has a special meaning for Chanel: The lion (power), The Comet (luck), The Camellia (harmony), The chain (style) and The Pearls (radiation).
There are three colors to choose from in each design: Pearly White, Warm Gold and Precious Coral.
Pearly White
Pearly White it’s a shimmery shimmery white. It has more shine than most Chanel highlighters. Fun for the holidays but VERY sparkly. To my eyes it looks almost identical to the shimmer bottom half of Duo Lumiere from the Holiday 2023 collection. If I had to choose one, I would choose Duo Lumiere because the color on the top is SO amazing.

Warm gold
Warm gold it is the perfect shade of warm gold. A few peachy, tiny bits of micro-sparkles (but not full of glitter) make it pretty. There is another highlighter in the Poudre Lumiere formula it’s called Warm Gold, but the Warm Gold color in Les Symboles de Chanel is different. Significantly different to warrant owning both in my opinion. The holiday version is deeper, more golden and more shimmery/bright.

Precious Coral
Precious Coral it is my favourite. It’s a beautiful light coral with the most perfect soft sheen. I want this shade in literally everything – tops, bags, lipsticks, glosses, eyeshadows, etc. I think it’s the most beautiful color I think I’ve ever seen.

Overall beautiful and bright. I collect Chanel highlighters so these were a must for me. I would have liked Pearly White to have been more subdued with shimmer versus glitter, but I still think it’s fun for the holidays. My favorite is Precious Coral although Warm Gold is a very pretty flattering gold shade. It’s hard to pick a favorite pattern. I think they are all beautiful, but I think Comet and Camellia are my favorites.
