My review
I’ve never used lip pencils, but lately, I’ve really come to appreciate their benefits in creating subtle volume and definition and enhancing the look of any lip color.
These pencils are meant to stay true to your skin tone for a truly natural and flattering result. I have a neutral skin tone so the N shades will work best for me and I really like the 2N shade I tried at the launch event for a pretty defined and enhanced lip look that still looks naturally flattering.
Here is a video of its application:
The texture of these lip pencils is firm enough to really help shape and sculpt the lip line, but blendable enough to smooth and smudge over the lip. I love that you can sketch on the skin around the lip line and the pencil still really holds its shape.
It is a very good idea to sort the lip shades related to the skin tone. I’ve been experimenting quite a bit with lip liners recently and although I always pick shades that I like, sometimes I end up with a bit of a fake look that I assume will be undertone of the shade I’ve chosen.
I think I’ll still be able to use the cool and warm shades as well as the neutrals which technically suit me best, so if I want a change in color and tone I’ll go for those as they’re all great shades.
The finish is a lovely hazy matte which is really flattering and doesn’t sink into fine lines and the color lasts really well. They are great!
It’s also great that they come with a sharpener. I’m always looking for a sharpener!!
