Lpn's Holiday Gift Guide 2015 Part I: Natural Perfume

Fa la la la…. <3

Hard to believe, but it’s (almost) (already) that time of year.
To kick off the holiday season, I thought I’d start by posting LPN’s First Holiday Gift Guide of 2015.

Since perfume and fragrance are such common (toxic) gifts during the holidays, it only made sense to start here this year: your healthy alternative to beautiful fragrance, of course. Find below a selection of some of my favorites (some you may have seen before in the pages of LPN) and some new finds.

Let’s get to it, beautiful.

Confused about whether to buy holiday spirits or spritzes? There is a scent to it. 😉

Sorry; Yes, it’s so natural you can literally drink it. The ingredients? Lime Oil, Bergamot Oil, Peppermint Oil, Vetiver Oil, Ginger Extract, Palmarosa, West Indian Sandalwood, Vanilla Absolute and Food Grade Grain Alcohol.

As previously seen on LPN, the New Zealand-based 100% organic natural perfumery has launched with Tonic a beautifully crisp and earthy scent that’s perfect for the ‘anti-floral’ baby. The blend of lime, mint and bergamot plus vetiver and sandalwood is a perfect combination. For me, I love woody and fresh scents on my skin and Tonic is a dream. Also, what do I like about Abel? Their scents are unisex, so you or your man can wear this wonderful fragrance.

Also, for the gift receiver who has everything, there are only 1693 bottles available worldwide.

Where to buy from:

International: Abel Organics online for 92 EUR

For rich hippies, indeed, comes Rich Hippie’s Eau de Parfums. My pick of the moment? Bliss. With a base of deep, feminine floral notes (but not ‘floral’ or ‘sweet’) Bulgarian Damascena rose and Tunisian citrus combine to leave you with a deep velvety scent that’s your mysterious moon goddess. Another winner in my books. The ingredients are pure as always: organic alcohol, extracts from organic and wild plants and flowers.

All fragrances have a little romance in their names and are handcrafted (using organic ingredients) in small batches in California. Um, love? Yes.

Where to buy from:

International: Rich Hippie Online for $145 USD for 1/8 oz

Scandinavia: Fragrant Lounge for NOK 599 – use code LPNSPECIAL20 to receive free samples with Eau de Parfum orders

When in doubt, use lavender. French lavender, straight up. Every damn time. 😉

Not much fragrance, not quite aromatherapy sprite, but something beautiful in between (oh, don’t we all love the gray zone). Use Frankie & Myrrh’s Purple People Pleasure as a post-shower body mist, perfume, car freshener, room freshener, linen spray, hand sanitizer, soothing pillow spray, soothes a sunburn or minor abrasions, repels insects… oh my. , just use it anywhere!

I love lavender for its relaxation-inducing properties – a must during this crazy time of year. For best aromatherapy results: spray several times into cupped hands, place hands over nose and mouth and inhale deeply for 30 seconds (avoid your precious eyes).

Where to buy from:

Scandinavia: Fragrant Lounge Online: NOK 209 – use code LPNSPECIAL20 and receive 20% discount until the end of November 2015

International: Amazon.com for $19.95 USD

For the Luxe Lover, Hiram Green handcrafts limited edition Voyage in small batches. An ode to the ‘exotic mysteries of India’, the new and (250! limited edition bottles) fragrance is as atmospheric and exciting as a flea market in Mysore. Voyage is a beautiful blend of fresh citrus top notes, a heart of warm amber and luscious suede over a smooth vanilla base. I absolutely love this scent. It’s totally feminine without being overly sweet or floral.

Where to buy from:

International: Hiram Green Online for 135 EUR for 50 ml

Scandinavia: Fragrant Lounge Online: NOK 1,290 – use code LPNSPECIAL20 and receive 20% discount on all Aroma Sprays and Eau de Toilette (Florascent) until the end of November 2015

Created by renowned Australian makeup artist Rosie Jane, the irresistible fragrance of Leila Lou’s perfume oil blends beautifully into a 100% natural fragrance. Top notes: nectarine and fresh grass, heart: pear blossom and jasmine and base: vanilla and white musk with some final notes of fresh grass, Leila Lou is pure, smooth, fresh and totally addictive. Oh and that packaging 😉 Love!

Where to buy from:

International: Eco Diva Beauty for $50 USD

These fresh little rollerballs are perfect for a Secret Santa gift or a nice surprise in Mom’s stocking. Out of all the products, my favorite is French Lilac. These beautiful scents couldn’t be more different. The best part is the price point, you can afford to splurge for a few. I bought French Lilac for my mum last year – a scent that definitely brings spring to mind with a blend of Lilac, Magnolia Leaf, Heliotrope, Ylang Ylang, Hyacinth and Nectarine. I still borrowed it last time I was home… but I have a feeling it’ll be gone before I get back for Christmas break. 😉
