And so it goes, LPN’s Holiday Gift Guide! Today’s yogi’s guide is edited by one of the owners (and one of my favorite yoga teachers and best friends) Kelsi, of Leela Yoga in Oslo.
You may have seen the lovely Kelsi and her lovely studio on LPN’s Instagram, sometimes. Kelsi has lovingly handpicked her yoga gift picks for you to browse. Happy shopping yogis!
Oh, and if you’re in the Oslo area, be sure to stop by Leela Yoga for a class from Kelsi. She’s a goddess – and I promise you’ll leave her class feeling like one too.
So let’s get to it – Yogi Gift Guide 2015!
Gangster spirit tank
Spiritual Gangster has influenced the yoga gear industry, no doubt. With their lovely sayings and beautiful prints, they make for some of the most fun pre- or post-shavasana pieces. Their new collection? Wonderful. Why not pick up a tank that is burgundy and gold or Goddess Lakshmi on it (pictured)? I love the prints, the colors and the quality. Always a pleasure to wear!

Beyond Yoga Leggings
Every yogi needs a good pair of leggings. My favorite by far are the Beyond Yoga leggings. The quality and fabric are amazing. Make sure you get a pair of space paint leggings. Space Dye is a uniquely textured performance fabric with an extremely soft hand – it feels great to the touch. The fabric includes 4-way stretch (yes, you’ll actually notice something different) and quick-drying properties. The recipient of the gift will love you forever! These leggings feel plush and comfortable while still looking trendy and gorgeous. These black mesh side panels offer extra breathing space while also being super cool! The high waist keeps everything in check and the length is great for commuting to and from yoga during the winter.

Yoga books
If anyone knows me, they know I love books [Kate interjecting here: yes, Kelsi is indeed a the Queen of a good read – I’ve borrowed a few from her library – in fact I’m traveling home for Christmas holidays right now with one of her books in my bag].
Giving someone a book is a great way to show them you care! I have a lot on my list this Christmas, but one that looks interesting and beautiful is this new book about setting up a home practice. With sage advice from world-renowned yogis, including everything from setting up your yogi space to how to commit to your new practice. I will be gifting this to a loved one this Christmas, and so should you!
Some other books to consider for more seasoned yogi friends are:

Jade yoga mat
You’ve heard LPN rave about Manduka, but rank up the “best yoga mat ever”? Look no further than the Jade mat. I’ve been a fan of the Jade rug ever since I touched one. I loved them so much, I bought them for the studio and all our members use them! Not only do you not slip on them, but they are also environmentally friendly. Win the victory for your loved one.

Stocking stuffer! Arnica gel
Perfect for your favorite yogi friend’s stocking with sore muscles is arnica gel! I always have it on hand. Arnica oil has been found to have antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, and may be useful for healing or relieving much more. It is often used for muscle aches, spasms, pulled muscles or rheumatic pains, sprains, bruises and swelling due to fractures, insect bites and even acne! A savior for every yoga bag!

Water bottle Bkr
Another LPN favorite is the bkr bottle. Hydration is key during and after a yoga class – and you can do it in style too. I’m guilty of having a few of these (how could you not? the colors!). It’s the perfect accessory in the studio and out! Give a loved one the 0.5 L bottle or even the 1. L bottle for extra H2O love!

Satya Jewellery
This jewelry is simply stunning. I love the details and the message behind each piece. The piece pictured is a gorgeous Lotus flower in 18k gold, which focuses on new beginnings and infinite possibilities. The hamsa represents protection and blessings, while turquoise brings health, intuition and self-expression. How beautiful! Also see Why Not Treat Someone You Love With These Gems!

Yoga membership at their local studio
Wherever you are in the world, why not buy a drop-in pass, a weekly pass or even a 1-month subscription to your favorite studio for a loved one — and take it with you? It’s a great way to introduce a friend to your favorite teacher or class. Besides, why not make a girls night out of it every week and grab dinner after a J Week-Card, Drop In or Year-Long Membership!
[Kate’s note: Leela is a seriously beautiful studio, complete with cafe and yoga shop – the best in Oslo, bar none! I take down to Kelsi’s classes – which are always packed. Starting January I’ll be teaching Wednesday mornings, so come visit!]
[Kate’s note: The beautiful owner, Kelsi and Tonje teach classes weekly at the studio and have a strong following of devoted students. Make sure to book in advance 😉 ]

Donate to a yoga nonprofit
Sometimes buying a gift can be an extra “nice gift” to the givers and receivers. For the yogi who has everything, or maybe doesn’t exchange gifts, why not donate some money to a yoga non-profit? I love this non-profit, Off the Mat (OTM), for many reasons. The fact that Sean Corn is the force behind it that makes it extra special.
OTM uses the tools of yoga to inspire conscious activism and ignite grassroots and global change. They do this by facilitating personal empowerment and social awareness in their leadership trainings, fostering community collaboration and supporting local and global community engagement projects. Founded in 2007, OTM’s mission is to use the tools of yoga, meditation and self-exploration to inspire leaders to create conscious, sustainable change.
