Sharing some of my functional workshops for mothers over 30 years.
Hi friends! What are you doing? What is going on this morning? I have some calls today, a workout and a podcast interview this afternoon.
For today, let’s discuss one of my favorite issues: Functional Workshops. (Friendly reminder that this post is not medical advice. I am not a doctor, and these are just some of my favorite workshops to run with customers. Before making any health changes, reach your doctor.)
What are operating laboratories?
Operating workshops exceed the standard blood work you usually get in your doctor’s office. While conventional laboratories are looking for diseases or out -of -range indicators, operating tests are designed to evaluate how well your body works before Things go wrong. These laboratories can reveal underlying imbalances in hormones, minerals, intestinal health, detox pathways and much more. Often before the symptoms become more severe.
Unlike standard tests, functional laboratories often use non -traditional samples such as saliva, urine, stools or hair (instead of or except blood). This allows for a more detailed view of what is happening at the cellular and metabolic level. For example, an analysis of mineral hair tissues (HTMA) may show imbalances of heavy minerals and toxicity and a cortisol test that can record the response of stress all day – the things you will not usually see in a blood routine.
These tests are extremely valuable for creating targeted protocols that support healing in the main cause, rather than only manage symptoms. They can also be completed at home, which makes them super accessible.
Functional Laboratories for Mothers Over 30
If you are a woman over 30 and you feel that your body does not respond to the way it used to – your energy is away, your sleep is inconsistent, your workouts do not work and your mood feels like a rollercoaster – not in your head. It may be time to look under the hood!
Functional laboratory tests are one of the most empowering things you can do for your health. Instead of guessing which supplements will you take or diet to try, The test gives you data. It gives you clarity. It tells us where your body is out of balance, and most importantly, what we can do for it.
(It is worth noting here that these tests do not seek diseases and are not used to diagnose the disease.
These are the basic functional tests I suggest for many mom’s friends over 30.
Hormonal imbalances
Fatigue and exhaustion
Weight gain (despite the fact that “all right things”)
Mood swings or anxiety
Sleeping problem
Intestinal issues and bloating
Hair loss or skin changes
My favorite functional laboratory balance tests
1. Anxiety, mood and metabolism test
This is a gameChanger. THE Anxiety, mood and metabolism The test gives us a snapshot of your hormones (such as estrogen and progesterone), the stress hormone (cortisol), your thyroid (TSH, T4, T3, vice versa T3, antibodies) and basic indicators of insulin and blood sugar.
Because it matters: These systems are deeply interconnected. If you are persistently experiencing weight, fatigue, irregular circles or mood changes, this test can show you the complete picture. Many women are surprised to find that their symptoms are linked to the sluggish function of the thyroid or cortisol dysfunction and once we know what is happening, we can create an targeted action plan.
2. Test organic acids (oats)
Think of this as an internal reference card on how your body works. The oats It examines over 70 indicators associated with bowel health, detoxification, neurotransmitters, nutrient levels, mitochondrial function and even over -development of dough or mold.
Because it matters: If you have mysterious symptoms that do not appear to be connected – or simply exhausted, fog or inflammatory all the time – this test is so useful. It often reveals hidden imbalances that lose other standard laboratories and gives us a clear direction on where to support your body with targeted supplements or protocols. This can be particularly insightful for the problems of autoimmune, digestive, skin and mood. Check it here.
3. HTMA (Analysis of Mineral Hair Tissues)
This is one of the most inadequate, but extremely valuable, tests in functional medicine. THE Htma It examines the balance of your minerals (such as magnesium, calcium, sodium, potassium and zinc) and the exposure of toxic heavy metals (such as mercury, lead and aluminum).
Because it matters: Minerals are the spark plugs of your body. When it is out of balance – often due to stress, the use of births, poor digestion or chronic infections – it can affect energy, metabolism, thyroid and detoxification pathways. We also have information on your adrenal function and your nervous system. It is a low -cost, non -invasive test that can provide enormous insight and is often the one I start.
4. IgG food sensitivity test
Although not always necessary for everyone, food sensitivity tests can be useful if you are struggling with inexplicable bloating, skin issues, joint pain or fatigue. Especially when these symptoms remain even with a pure diet.
Because it matters: Food sensitivities can create low quality inflammation in the gut, which can be thrown into hormonal humidity, immune response and energy. This test It can give us a temporary course map for what to remove or reduce so that the intestine can be cured.
Here’s the big picture
These tests do not concern perfection or “biohacking” in stress. These are answers. And from these answers, creating a plan that feels viable and personalized to you.
With the right data, you can:
Sleep better (and deeper)
Finally, you have fixed action again
Feel mentally clear and emotionally grounded
Balance your hormones and improve cycle health
Understand exactly what your body needs at the moment
Stop wasting money in supplements you don’t need
