The jewelry I never take off…
I’ve always loved jewelry, but in the last couple of years I’ve really honed in on my style, my everyday favorites, and the items I never take off. They are outfit makers, even polishers and have the ability to bring balance back to a look that seems a little lackluster. I’ve realized that for me I like to mix chunkier, sculptural pieces with everyday lighter pieces, along with things like my rings and bracelets that stay put no matter what. This is what my wardrobe looks like with my jewelry…
NECKLACE
I own a few more necklaces than I’ll list here, but I’m really only switching to two right now. Whether I wear it Mejuri Curb Chain Necklace* (ad – given away) – which I would say is probably my top jewelry choice – or the Lie Studios Elly necklace*. Both are completely opposite ends of the spectrum and add a slightly different flavor to whatever outfit I’m wearing. I’m leaving the Mejuri up until I trade it for Lie Studios, as this is more of a day-only suit. But there really isn’t much decision making here – it’s either one or the other.
earrings
Ok here is where I play a bit. I’ll start with the simple first. My everyday earring is a style from Mejuri, which is now discontinued but looks more like theirs Easy medium loops*. Just a simple hoop, nothing crazy, but I can sleep and shower in them and only take them out to swap them for something bolder. I just bought it Mejuri Sculptural Hoops* and they’re really pretty – these two together would make the perfect chic/bold capsule earring. However, most of the bolder earrings I wear are from Lie Studios and I mainly switch between their earring style, the Julie* or their very large Camille Studs* (advertisement – gifted). You would have seen me wearing both of these styles many times as it is what I use most mornings to add polish to my outfit.
BRACELETS
I don’t really shuffle my bracelets, mostly because my Apple Watch takes up most of the real estate on my wrist. So I just wear mine Mejuri Round Box Chain Bracelet* (ad – gifted), with them Watch bracelet* (advertisement – gifted). The latter is a bit thicker and the former more delicate and I never take them off, I only change them if I’m at an event and want to bare my wrists. One day I would like to add it Lie Studios Elly Bracelet* in my collection – it’s on my shopping list!
rings
I almost forgot to add this section! I NEVER take them out, lest they somehow register. It’s just a part of me – literally – some that I can’t take away! My engagement ring and wedding band were from a local shop in Brighton (I think we got engaged almost nine years ago now and I STILL love my ring, simple as that – Mark pulled it off so well!). Then on the index finger on my left hand I wear a very, very old black gemstone ring that Mejuri no longer makes (the Solo diamond ring* are similar), with the Diamonds Line Ring* (ad – gifted) stacked. I wear it on my right index finger Mejuri Twist Ring* (ad – gifted) that I have owned for YEARS, on their middle finger 2mm smooth belt* and on my ring on my right a Claire Kinder ring which I got when we went to visit Shop Anomie in San Francisco.
