I don’t think I can stress enough how much I love fall dressing and I’m so excited that for me and other fellow fall wearers ā€“ it’s about time! Think wide leg jeans, timeless coats and jackets, pointed boots and a nod to autumnal earth tones with accessories ā€“ BRING IT ON. Of course NET-A-PORTER* has you covered as always and them new department* it’s just a wealth of clothing wishes and inspiration right now. My top tip would be to spend some time on ‘Designers‘* section of the site, add your favorites and this means that every time you are looking for a coat or boots for example, you can narrow it down to just your favorite designers. So I made this edit and let me tell you my shopping list is *teeming with* right now. Here’s what’s in itā€¦

SKINNY JEANS

I’ve featured wide leg jeans here, but really straight leg jeans will always be ‘in’ ā€“ they’re classic for a reason. In the picture I am wearing it KHAITE Danielle high rise straight leg jeans* (top tip ā€“ size up ā€“ I’m wearing a 28 here and could have done with the 29 for a bit of extra comfort) and it’s a bit of everything as it’s a straight leg but they run a lot so they pop out nicely over a boot with a heel. For a more classic wide-leg style that looks a little bigger, try this WARDROBE.NYC Low Rise Boyfriend Jeans* ā€“ I would always recommend checking the ‘Sizing and Fit’ section on the product page, as NET-A-PORTER always provides such helpful sizing information, which is *exactly* what you need when it comes to jeans. The Citizens of Humanity Annina Psilofytos Wide jeans* give a more denim feel during the wash if that’s your thing or if it’s a lighter wash you want then give it a go Loulou Studio Organic Jeans* a test.

BAGS IN EARTH TONES

My FAVORITE thing to talk about. My heart is literally pounding with joy NET-A-PORTER Bag Department* ā€“ ha! The new fall bags are just that, So well it’s hard to pick a favorite, so i’ll have to pick three instead. The Row Park Small Leather Tote in Orange* (which is actually the gorgeous burgundy bag I’m wearing in these photos), is gorgeous and so buttery and pretty in real life ā€“ maybe size up to a medium if you want things roomier. The Toteme Textured-Leather Tote* it’s just the right balance of slouchy but a little stiff and looks like it would fit a good amount. Then we I have let’s talk about it Loewe Puzzle Fold Covertible Two Tone Leather Tote BaG*. I really Really like it ā€“ especially the two-tone. Not only is it practical, but both tones make a statement, as does the folding design. What can I say? I just love a Loewe.

WOOL COAT

The good news with coats is that a classic style will do always they look cool. You know that coat you have from last year? Or 10 years ago? If you bought high quality and in a piece that still feels great, then chances are you’ll just be able to dust it off for next season. Wool coats may be more classic for the true winter months, but they’re just as practical in the transition months too ā€“ just skip the knit filler layer and leave it to your two loaves of bread ā€“ a thin T-shirt and a woolen coat. I’m wearing it Toteme DoublĆ© Oversized Wool Coat* here which is just the right thickness as it’s thin enough for autumn but thick enough for the bitter cold and I’ve always loved them Totem Signature Wool-Blend Coat*. I sold mine Toteme Draped Fringe Wool-Blend Jacket* in green so I can buy the all black version which might be the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen?! Yes, yes I did. For a little twist on a basic I would recommend it Loulou Studio Wool & Cashmere Blend Coat*, has that classic double-breasted long coat, but has a striped pattern that’s also on trend in couture right now. It’s a bit of a two-in-one.

MUSSY BOOTS

I’ve always liked a pointed start moment. I used to be all about the bunion, but this year it’s the square toe for me. There’s just something about them that elongates the leg and if you buy a slightly higher sock-boot variety, then they go with literally any style of jeans ā€“ cropped, wide leg or straight. They just seem universal Good. The other good news is that they are comfortable. The Toteme medium heel ankle boots* it’s like wearing slippers and I don’t quite get it, but I don’t doubt it! It’s my big boot purchase of the season and I’m already in love. It was exactly what I was looking for when it came to upgrading my clothes for next season (side note: they also come in Dark brown croc effect*, and runs true to size). If you’re looking for a softer spot, give it a go Aeyde Linn leather ankle boots* a go or for a full length style up to the knee try it Staud Allay Leather Knee Boots* which also come in a lovely camel suede.
