Podcast 269: when beauty loses the big picture the

What will happen if some of the most superstar innovations in sustainable beauty-soluble leaf masks, waterless shampoos, wild herbs-are unintentional part of the problem?

In this powerful individual episode of Green Beauty talks, Formula Botanica’s chief executive, biologist and chartered environmentalist Lorraine Dallmeier launches a bold series of four four parties that cause everything we think we know about viable beauty.

Based on seven years of expert interviews and hundreds of ideas from the world cosmetics sector, Lorraine exposes one of the most unpleasant truths of the industry: Smart is not always the same as sustainable.

From the agriculture of the algae to soluble wipes, this first episode urges us to reduce and ask what happens if everyone is doing this.

Tune in now because this new 4 -part series is a shift of tone and depth and you will not want to lose one place.

“Smart is not the same as sustainable.” – Lorraine Dallmeier

KEYS PRODUCTION:

  • Because many “sustainable” innovations depend on the environment. Biodegradable, soluble, re -established – they sound wonderful in isolation. But Lorraine explains why even the smartest solutions can be left when they scale worldwide. The question is not only “is it better?” – It’s “What happens if he does this?”
  • The truth about beauty without water. Water -free compositions can reduce the weight and packaging of shipping, but Lorraine is depressing the hidden footprints of ingredients and consumer habits. Without dealing with over -consumption, “no water” is in danger of becoming another sound of viability.
  • The warning history of the wild restrained and regenerative ingredients. Wild herbal botanical and regenerative malls keep promise, but they can quickly become mining when demands. Lorraine shares real examples that emphasize the fragility of ecosystems as soon as the small -scale supply becomes a large business.
  • Because the hierarchy of waste still matters. Most beauty innovations focus on solutions at the end of life, such as composting or recycling. But Lorraine urges the return to the basics-reuse, reuse, recycle-and challenges to innovate not only for innovation, but for real system viability.
  • How to think as a systems designer in beauty. The actual viability occurs at the system level. Lorraine shares how brands can ask better questions and evaluate the biggest image before escalating. If 8 billion people adopted a product, would it still be considered viable?

Next week at Podcast, Lorraine will explore the meaning – and misuse – of the word “viable” in beauty. Until then, challenge yourself to see beyond the words -key!
