Rhode has launched new lip and cheek colors for summer with the Pocket rouge ($24 each) and Peptide Lip Tint ($18 each). They are available now at Rhode Skin with discounted packages if you buy one of them scenery. The shades looked perfect for summer so I ordered one of everything in the sets. I have samples today!
Pocket rouge
The Pocket rouge is a cream blush with a twist base. There are six shades in total and I bought it Pocket blush set. The pigment is intense with one swipe, but when you blend it is medium in coverage. It’s dewy on the finish if you apply it on bare skin or just over foundation or a skin tone. If I apply over a powder face, the finish is less dewy and more satiny which I prefer. As far as cream blushes go, these are some of the best I’ve tried for lasting power. Creams are challenging in humid weather but have held up well enough if I’ve been out for a few hours. Right now the humidity levels are so high, literally nothing will last a few days.
I really like the look of these. I have better wear and coverage with it Armani Luminous Cheek Tints but these are different in application and type.
- Freckle is a nude beige
- Piggy is a soft pastel pink
- Sleepy Girl is purple
- Juice Box is bright pink
- Spicy Marg is a coral peach
- Toasted Teddy is brown
After trying all the colors, I think Spicy Marg and Juice Box are my favorites. Piggy is a little pale for my skin tone right now, but I can make it work if I layer something else on top. Since Toasted Teddy is deeper and contrasts with my skin tone, I have to blend it out a bit more than the other shades, but blending is pretty easy. Overall a solid A.
Peptide Lip Tint New Shades
There are four new shades of it Peptide lip shades. The whole is connected here. I love these lip balms and have bought every shade. Some of the earlier launches seem to have developed some crystallized pieces, but not all have. I hope this news won’t develop the gritty texture.
The new shades this launch pull on the sheer side, wish they had more pigment, but the colors are really pretty. As a lip balm lover, I love these. I don’t know if I would call them must-haves, but the colors are amazing. New colors include:
- Cookie a cool pink
- Peach Pit a pure peach
- Salty Tan a sheer purple
- Guava Spritz is a coral pink

Summer lip liner
Road launched a super cute iPhone case (available in various sizes) in colors to match the new summer lip glosses. They are very cute and I love the concept. In real life I found mine a little too thick feeling and a little uncomfortable to hold. I kept mine on for about an hour and then took it out, but I’m the kind of guy who has a much improved basic phone case so I can slip it in and out of my pocket or put it in mini bags. I think they are fun, but not practical for me.
