My Sisley Paris Phyto Teint Perfection Foundation Review
I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this foundation because I’m a shimmer addict and this formula is matte. That said, it’s not flat matte at all and what I love most about this foundation is that it offers a velvety finish that still has a very natural glow.
What skin type is it good for?
I have combination skin and I find it very good on my skin type. Because it has a matte finish, I find that it stays on my skin really well and I can get away without powdering which is always good news for me.
The product is designed to suit all skin types and has a lot of skin care. So even if you have fairly dry skin, this should work for you. Having said that, drier skin types are more suited to a more shimmery foundation and I think this is best suited to combination and oily skin.
Do you need to dust it?
I haven’t felt the need to powder this foundation at all. It lasts very well without setting powder, however if you are oily you may want to set it lightly on any areas where you tend to shine. Personally I would see how it goes without powder and then make a judgement. The transfer-proof finish can mean you can skip powder altogether.
Is it easy to apply?
I used a buffing brush to apply the Sisley Paris Phyto Teint Perfection Foundation and I find that a little goes a long way. Start with one pump, then add more if you want to build coverage in any areas.
How is the coverage?
This foundation provides really good coverage and will be great if you want to cover any redness, dark spots and blemishes. I find that one layer is enough to even out skin tone and really perfect my complexion.
Like I said, a little goes a long way so you can peel it off and layer it depending on the look you’re trying to achieve. I find it’s also great for blurring pores, fine lines and blemishes.
How is the finish?
This is a matte finish foundation, however, there is still a nice amount of natural shimmer. Because I like the glowy finish, I combine the new Shiseido Revitalessence Skin Glow Primer (reviewed here) and that gives me the perfect amount of glow.
It’s also really nice over a thicker moisturizer like the new one Drunk Elephant Bora Barrier Cream Repair Cream*. Depending on how you prep your skin, you can really customize the finish with this foundation.
