The beauty of the holidays is already starting to trickle in and every year they seem to start earlier and earlier! As the ultimate fan of the Tarte Maracuja lip line, I picked up four of the holiday set that came out this year and the ones I got are all brand new shades.
Also, it’s been a while since I reviewed and tried the Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump or Lip Liners. Tarte has been adding new shades to almost all of their Maracuja formulas and I’ve collected so many that I thought I’d review them here.
Quick note there are many more Tart sets, bundles and variations for these holidays. Also, each retailer seems to have slightly different offerings (Sephora and Ulta have different sets). Some have twins of their most popular shades, while some of the sets have new colors.
Best of Maracuja Juicy Lips Set 2024
Best of Maracuja Juicy Lips Set 2024 ($45, available at Take it, Sephora, Ulta Beauty, Macy’s) has four new colors and I am 10/10 in love. They are all neutrals and I love every shade. The set has:
- Maracuja Juicy Lip Vinyl in Spiced Pinka super opaque and rich medium rose with full coverage and high shine
- Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump in Rose Quartz Shimmer Glassa rose quartz shimmer shade with high shine
- Maracuja Juicy Plumping Lip Oil in Cool Mauvea cool mauve with a glossy finish
- Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump in Buffed Rose a tan beige rose
I really like all four formulas. This is my first time trying the oil and while I really like the formula, I’m not sure how long the sponge pad application will last. It’s by no means weak, but it looks like it could potentially wear out quickly.
Maracuja Juicy Lip Icon Duos
There are three new holidays Maracuja Juicy Lip Icon Duos ($26 each, Take it, Ulta Beauty, Dermstore). Each set has a Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump Shade and matching Lip Liner.
- Rosy Neutrals it’s my favorite with Rosy Beige shades, both are soft rosy pink beige
- Spiced Neutrals has Spiced Ginger Lip Liner and Ginger Lip Plump, both are brown/beige/brown variants
- Rich neutrals is the darker option with a Rich Brown Lip Liner, a black brown and Truffle Lip Plump which is a deep mahogany brown shade
Of the three sets Rosy Neutrals is the most flattering. Spiced Neutrals are pretty, but I’m too drawn to them. I’m not a fan of the Rich Neutrals mainly because the liner is so dark on my lips and the lip plumpers are a bit streaky in the finish.
Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump
I’m obsessed with it Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump ($26 each). I love the shades, the glossy finish, the formula and the balm style applicator. You can find this type at almost every Tarte retailer, but Take it has the most shades available and they often have sales and bundles that you can mix and match for super savings. The formula is glossy and semi-sheer with a soft buildable formula. It smells a bit but doesn’t sting me. It almost has a cool minty feel on the lips.
I have swatches below of almost every neutral they’ve released. I just got a few of these in the mail so I haven’t tried every shade but I know I like White Peach, Peachy Beige, Rosebud, Mixed Berries and Coral Pink. I also included shades from the holiday sets in the swatch line.
Maracuja Juicy Lip Liner
THE Maracuja Juicy Lip Liner ($22, Take it, Sephora, Ulta Beauty) is another favorite. These are twist up style with a removable sharpener at the end. There are quite a few neutrals and what I like about them is that they don’t drag too much when you apply and they also don’t budge once they set. My favorite is Nude or Dusty Rose, but I think the new Rosy Beige from the Rosy Neutrals Duo is my favorite.
This completes the Tarte lip collection! I think Best of Maracuja Lips is the best for the colors and the price. They come packaged in a way that you can separate the colors if you want to split it up and give it away. I ordered all of mine from Tarte (they had some specials) but you can definitely find them at your local Ulta Beauty or Sephora. QVC she also has great value sets that are often limited edition, so be sure to check them out if you’re shopping for vacation packages.
