ICE CREAM STATS:

REBEL — VANILLA

How cute is Rebel’s packaging? I love their streamlined look and they use natural vanilla which is so lovely. Plus, they’re sweetened with monkfruit, so it’s one of the best healthy sugar-free ice cream alternatives. It’s a little different from traditional ice cream because it’s so fluffy. We said it tasted a bit like frozen Cool Whip and generally thought it was pretty good.

COOLHAUS — VANILLA (OUR 3RD PLACE WINNER)

Shout out to Coolhaus for being a woman owned business! Their base is organic milk and this stuff is soft. Seriously, we loved it. Ryan actually said he liked it better than Ben & Jerry’s, so we had to put it on the podium for our favorite healthy ice cream alternatives! But there’s quite a bit of sugar in this bad boy, so watch your portion size.

  • Fat: 8 g
  • Pro: 4g
  • Sugar: 5g added sugar, 29g total sugar

SO DELICIOUS — COCONUT MILK VANILLA BREAD

Um, we’ll be honest. We weren’t too impressed. But if you like an ice cream tart, maybe give it a try. Low sugar is definitely a pro.

  • Fat: 12 g
  • Pros: <1 g
  • Sugar: 2 g

OATLY — VANILLA (OUR 2ND PLACE WINNER)

Vegan, gluten free, solid ingredients – this one ticks a lot of boxes. It has a nice texture and mild taste. It’s not overly vanilla and has just enough added sugar. But as far as a non-dairy option for healthy ice cream alternatives, this was our favorite!

  • Sugar: 19 g added sugar

HALO TOP — VANILLA (OUR 1ST PLACE WINNER)

Okay, we weren’t impressed when we first opened it. We thought it would be frosty and weird, but it’s actually really good and creamy with lots of vanilla flavor! Halo Top also has a lot going for it, being low calorie, low fat and low sugar with a decent amount of protein. We were very impressed with the Halo Top and said it came pretty close to Ben & Jerry’s. That’s why we chose it as our top pick for healthy ice cream alternatives!

SO DELICIOUS — VANILLA WITH MILK

This is so much better than So Delicious coconut milk. It’s quite sugary and honestly tastes like a cookie. But we’d say there are better healthy ice cream alternatives out there.

  • Fat: 9 g
  • pro: 2 gr
  • Sugar: 19 g

SO DELICIOUS — MILK OATS HANGING VANILLA

Meh. We didn’t like the aftertaste on it either. When we compared this to Oatly’s vanilla flavor, it had a little less sugar, but the flavor wasn’t as good.

  • Calories: 190 calories
  • Fats: 10 g
  • pro: 1 gr
  • Sugar: 17 g added sugar

COCONUT BLISS — MADAGASCAR VANILLA

WAY better than So Delicious Coconut and with only four ingredients, this was a sure winner! Its taste is very similar to coconut. It was also nice and creamy. It had quite a few grams of added sugar, but it was a delicious treat.

  • Calories: 270
  • Fat: 21 g
  • pro: 2 gr
  • Sugar: 16g total, 13g added

LALOO’S — VANILLA CATIGIDES MILK

Where are you girls? Goat milk is a great choice for you! But I have to be honest, this wasn’t our favorite. We thought it tasted like eggs, tbh. I will be on the lookout for other target milk options. Hopefully, with the rise of milk alternatives, we’ll have more options soon!

ARCTIC ZERO — COOKIE DOUGH BUTTON

Honestly, we couldn’t get over the texture on this one. It’s very icy and looks a bit gelatinous. Yes, it doesn’t have a lot of sugar, but it’s probably not even worth it. If you’re going to gobble up ice cream, it has to be delicious.

ILLUMINATED — PB CHOCOLATE

Ryan was HYPED about it because of the taste. And can you blame him? With a lot of peanut butter in there, this hits the spot. But the chocolate flavor definitely tastes like no sugar, which I don’t like. They sweeten this stuff with sugar alcohols, which can give you digestive problems, so be careful.
