In the heart of the South Los Angeles, where healthcare deserts often overshadow hope, Dr. Kendra Segura reforms both the way in which care is provided and the way women – especially black women – see themselves. Known as “Ob/Gyn Next Door”, Dr. Kendra is a certified obstetric-gynecologist certified by the Board of Directors, the community champion, the businessman and the supporter who not only treats the natural illnesses of her patients, but also the therapeutic generations of distrust in a system that often ignores them.
He was born and raised in South Los Angeles, the journey of Dr. Kendra in medicine is characterized by determination and purpose. After completing the Medical School at Ross University and the OB/GYN residence at Rochester General Hospital, he made a deliberate choice to return home, choosing a service over the situation. She is currently practicing a local clinic that provides high quality, accessible care to unwanted and uninsured women-many of whom will otherwise be overlooked by the system. Her approach to the patient combines clinical expertise with cultural compassion, ensuring that every woman feels that she seems, sounds and valued.
This ethos was born to ask Dr. Kendra, a modern -day concierge of concierge that has rooted in complete care of the whole woman. Through this practice, it faces the very real health crises facing black women: fibroids, obesity, painful periods, hormonal imbalances, family planning and much more. Its model is deliberately comprehensive and deeply personal-offering both telemedicine and personal appointments tailored to meet women where they are. In her own words, Dr. Kendra believes that “every woman, in every neighborhood, is worth feeling well in and out”. And for her, this is not just a faith – it’s a battle cry.

In addition to the clinic, Dr. Kendra also makes waves in the beauty industry. In 2022, he became the proud owner of Hype Hair Century in Inglewood, California, a branch of virtual beauty franchise for beauty. But this is not an ordinary beauty shop – it is a sanctuary. Located in Hawthorne Blvd, the Hype Hair Century offers not only products but presence: a diligent space where hair, culture and community intersect. From wigs and braids to eyelashes and makeup lessons, the store was built to honor and celebrate the fullness of the black woman. For Dr. Kendra, beauty is not vanity – it is visibility. She opened the doors so that black women in her city have access to both care and trust.

The audiences across the country also knew Dr. Kendra as a cast member of Bravo’s “Married to Medicine: Los Angeles”, where he brought both Candor and Courage on the screen. He didn’t play perfectly. Instead, he left the spectators in the real life of a working doctor and a mother for the first time to balance a demanding career, personal development and post -child expectations. Her time on reality television only strengthened her platform – and made her defense feel even more authentic. He spoke publicly about the image of the body, the grace through motherhood and the importance of mental health – especially for professional women who rarely have time to stop and process their pain.

It recently expanded its well -being from the total aesthetic of the body, LA, where it now offers fat injections, hydration IV, hormone tests and wellness training. Her vision is clear: Strengthen women to take on their health, naturally and holistically. Whether it diagnoses reproductive problems or offers a convenient shot of vitamin B12, any patient experience is treated with the same level of integrity, warmth and clinical care.
Although medicine and beauty may look worlds, Dr. Kendra lives at their intersection. And it’s there – in this unique space of science and style, sand and shine – that it builds a legacy. A healer. Businessman. A mother. A voice for shares. Dr. Kendra Segura redefines what it means to be a black woman in medicine – not only from the lives she saves, but from the lives she inspires.
Because in every consultation, every corner of its store and every message she shares with the world, Dr. Kendra reminds us: treatment is not just for survival – it’s for joy.
