“I like to go above and beyond while maintaining the identity of each client,” he explains. “There are a lot of reference points and moods involved in creating signature looks. But at the end of the day, the most timeless designs often become the most iconic.”

Tokyo’s advice to aspiring stylists is simple but powerful:Never stop dreaming. If you can visualize it, it is possible. Don’t be afraid to take risks and break the rules. People told me I couldn’t—so I had no choice but to show them I could. And always stay hungry, because someone else is out there working overtime to take your crown.“
