There is nothing reasonable about forming an opinion of someone based on physical appearance. However, this has been the reality of black women since the beginning of time, especially when it comes to our hair. For centuries the Bible had women in a stranglehold and clinging to split ends because long hair offered cover. Then there is the idea that a woman’s decision to cut or dye her hair indicated that she was in the midst of a personal crisis. Oh, and let’s not forget the idea that locs weren’t classy, cute, or feminine.

Since we’re talking about a woman’s glory (her hair), it’s inspiring to see so many women slaying on their journey through the region. For so many years, hair was considered unkempt hair that had no styling options. In the midst of a burgeoning natural hair revolution, women with lobs have been placed in the same old box due to society’s standards. The most ignorant ideology was that locs were awesome (allusions to the earlier term dreadlocks).

Well, despite what has been said about locs in the past, there is no denying the fact that they are trending right now. The girls are slaying their clubs and proving that they are both versatile and top notch.

Q: How long have you had locs?
A: I am locked in for 7 years 8 March 2025
Q: What/who influenced your trip to the region?
A: What influenced me was my frustration with managing my loose natural hair and constantly hiding it under protective styles like wigs and crochet braids. I wanted to try something completely different and realized that if I didn’t like it, it was just hair. I could cut it off, and it would grow back. Since then, I haven’t looked back. This was the best hair decision I could have made for myself. @letsjourney was one of the first lock queens I found on YouTube and inspired me to explore Sisterlocks further.
Q: What do your fans say about you?
A: What my companies say about me is confidence. Since the day of my installation, I have never felt so beautiful with my natural hair. This feeling is indescribable and something I will cherish for the rest of my life. My hair is more than just a hairstyle. it’s a way of life and I’m fully committed.

Q: How long have you had locs?
A: I have been closed for 5 years.
Q: What/who influenced your trip to the region?
A: When I decided to get the flowers, I was drawn to their beauty, ease and convenience. My loose natural hair was becoming more and more difficult to manage and locs offered a way to embrace my natural texture in a way that felt more effortless and harmonious. The beauty of lobs is that they simplify hair care while still allowing for a dramatic and strong look. I also really like the look of the locs. They give me a sense of individuality and confidence, perfectly complementing my personal style and identity. To me, dreadlocks are more than just a hairstyle—they’re a reflection of my appreciation for natural beauty and a deep connection to my roots.
Q: What do your fans say about you?
A: What my groups say about me is that I value authenticity and self-expression. They reflect my appreciation of natural beauty and preference for a look that feels effortless yet distinct. My logs are a testament to my comfort in my own skin and my willingness to embrace something that not only makes my life easier but also empowers me. In essence, locs to me symbolize a mixture of practicality and aesthetics. They represent my desire to live life on my own terms, prioritizing what I feel is right for me over conforming to conventional standards. Through my posts, I project a sense of confidence and individuality, showing that I am someone who values both personal expression and the beauty of simplicity.

Q: What/who influenced your trip to the region?

On my scalp I’ve been using a hair oil called Kingdom’s finest, it has tree oil and a few other natural oils that feel really divine. And then I use Da Brat’s collection from Kaleidoscope. Everything smells so good!
