I was so excited to pick up the Tower 28 MakeWaves Mascara in Drift while I was in New York recently. It’s not out in the UK yet, but should be soon. Here’s a full review with before and after photos.
What is Tower 28 MakeWaves Mascara?
- Mascara designed to visibly volumize, lengthen and define
- Long lasting and water resistant formula
- The triple wave wand has three flexible, suspended strips that visibly lengthen and define each lash
- Ultra-light buildable formula
- The finish does not become crispy
- Easy to remove
- Vegan, gluten free, cruelty free
- Ophthalmologist tested, contact lens safe, allergy tested and 100 percent safe for sensitive eyes
The Wand
This wand is great at grabbing each lash and coating each one without loading too much product at once. It extends and separates the lashes very nicely.
Basic Ingredients
Aquaflex® Technology: Conventionally used in styling hair care, this ingredient actively works to define curls using memory (it remembers the wave of your lashes) while leaving lashes soft. The technology helps keep lashes moisture-resistant, visibly lifted and curled.
– Castor oil blend: Helps lashes look healthy, strong and well-groomed.
Before and After Photos
Here’s the before and after for you, with one light coat, two light coats, and then three generous coats on both eyes.

My Tower 28 MakeWaves Mascara Shade Drift Review
It’s so exciting to find a really good brown mascara! I think most people tend to go for a black mascara, (and I actually got the Black version of this too), but I went straight to the cafe to start testing.
I absolutely love this mascara. Drift is the perfect shade of brown. Not too deep that you lose the softness and not too warm that you end up looking like your eyes hurt a little. It’s just the perfect shade of brown.
The brush is great at picking up and stretching each lash and the formula has a great volumizing effect that keeps things looking quite natural.
It feels very light on the lashes, not irritating at all and I haven’t noticed any flaking or smudging. It’s wonderful. I will try the black shade, Jet, soon, but for now, Drift is just perfect.
If you’re looking for a new mascara that simply strengthens lashes, adds length and volume, and also maintains curl, MakeWaves Tower 28 Mascara is definitely one to check out.
Although it’s not a tube mascara, it looks like one as it’s lightweight, non-irritating and safe for sensitive eyes and contact lenses.
If you’re looking for a piping formula, I really like Zoeva’s. Read: Ooh Lash Tubing Mascara Review
When is Tower 28 MakeWaves Mascara available in the UK?
Unfortunately, the MakeWaves Masacara is currently not available in the UK. There is currently no UK release date confirmed, however, I will update as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can shop at Tower 28 Cult Beauty* in the UK.
Is Tower 28 MakeWaves a mascara with tubes?
No. This is not technically a mascara and can be removed with regular eye makeup remover. However, it feels very light and long lasting like a tube mascara. Check out the best eye makeup remover products on a budget.
