With seven Grand Slam titles and four Olympic gold medals in her name, Venus Williams is a force that needs to be taken into account in competitive tennis. But we find her works from the stadium – from launching active clothing partners for a good reason to support women’s equality in sports – as is inspired. Her last move is a collaboration with Dove for The body with confidenceAn initiative has focused on building confidence in young female athletes (you may have detected ads at Superbowl recently). For each item purchased from today to February 28, the brand donates to organizations such as Great sisters of America and Boys & Girls Clubs of America To help support girls in sports.

As her first twin, I had the opportunity to cover Williams for a Quickfire Q&A, diving on everything, from beauty routine to her tips on the next generation of athletes. Read below to discover her favorite body care products and how she keeps the makeup game as powerful as she serves it.

I feel stronger when…
I have finished a workout. Nothing feels better than that.

The power for me means…
Controlling my mind and my own choices.

What do you do when you feel powerless?
I push myself even harder because this is the time I can learn the most, whether it is myself, life or the situation (more in it below).

What is your anthem of power?
In fact I don’t have one!

What is your power icon?
Certainly my mom. He taught me how to be strong and strong.

What do you wear when you want to feel strong?
Something short!

Refines29: Tell us more about your collaboration with Dove and why this project means so much to you.

Venus Williams: The body with confidence The initiative is the only program of this kind that focuses on coaches and how they can help build confidence in girls – who are at this very impressive age – and encourage them to stay in sports. [In addition to the donation mentioned above, Dove has also partnered with the Women’s National Football Conference to host football camps and clinics for girls, and is providing resources and webinars to coaches through the Women’s Sports Foundation].

I’m so excited about it because I can’t imagine my life without sports. When I was at that age, I also looked at these coaches. I know firsthand the impact [that] Positive speech and negative speech had about your trust.

R29: What are some beauty products that are directed when you need this push of trust?

Vw: I am always moisturizing, so I bring rose everywhere. Whether I’m on the plane or in the car, I always spray it on my skin. I love both the serums of mattress and the moisturizing agents. My recent favorites were the Dior Capture Le Sérum, $ 145and Dior Capture Creme, $ 145.

When I am on the pitch, I like to wear eyeliner and bold earrings to offend. My favorite eyeliner is Milan’s stay put 16 hours of eyeliner, $ 9.99. It is waterproof and you don’t have to worry about the smudge. If it continues, it remains. I also wear this when I go out at night.

R29: What are some of the best beauty lessons you have taken from your loved ones?

Vw: I have learned to always wear sunscreen from Serena and put on long sleeves and gaiters when I go out into the sun.

One of the older sisters always said to me, “update, don’t delay!” I am inspired by her to always refresh my style and treat it as a fun work every few years. I learned from my makeup artists to always put a layer of moisture (such as a water -based serum) on my lips before sealing it with a balm for the lips or makeup.

R29: Let’s talk about body care. Do you have affordable favorites?

Vw: Use the Dove Relaxing Lavender Lavender & Hammomil body, $ 6.97And I like the fragrance. I also love the Dove Exfoliating Body Wash, $ 9.97that makes the skin tone more uniform [thanks to a formula designed for melanin-rich skin, packed with moisturizing ceramides and gentle exfoliants like salicylic acid]. I also recommend the Dove shiny long -term soft body washing, $ 6.97; I just love the Mango fragrance. I have used a body cleaning when showering with these products. It is very good for your lymphatic system. You can also use the washing machine to dry a brush, which gives you softer skin.

R29: Do you have tips for young girls to overcome self-doubt?

Vw: It’s okay to live with a little doubt-it’s just a part of life. I always tell children that there are ups and downs in life, but what is important is the decisions you make when you believe in yourself. When I am on the pitch, if I feel good about what I wear and how my own style, then I can focus on my tennis.

When girls have the opportunity to play sports, they have much less time or concern about what other people think and instead think about what they can achieve. Focusing on what I can achieve has made a big difference to me and spend less time thinking about how other people judge me.

I would also say that every little thing is added: even in the gym for 15 minutes is another way to take care of yourself. You will be amazed at how much you can complete in 15 minutes if you do not give up.

Like what do you see? What would you say for a while R29, here?
