Some mornings, you wake up and think, “I’m going to wear a bright red-orange lip like Judy Garland used to do.”

I just watched “Meet Me in St. Louis” for the first time and I’m so impressed that the makeup in this 1944 movie doesn’t look dated. The reddish orange lip that pops in many of Judy’s scenes is so beautifully classic.
I remembered after putting on my lipstick this morning that in the movie Judy’s often had a hint of glitter, but I couldn’t deal with it today, LOL! I can’t be the only person who wears bright red lipstick and makes a huge mess. It’s like my secret superpower to put it all over my face, on my teeth, on my clothes — I have to say, when it comes to glossy lips, matte finishes are much easier for me to wear, especially if I combine a matte liner like I did here (Urban Decay Bang) layered with a matte liquid lipstick (MAC Resort Season).
I like musicals and prefer shows and movies that aren’t too scary, and I really enjoyed “Meet Me in St. Louis.” It’s very sweet and easy to watch, and there are quite a few songs that I recognized as soon as I heard them in pop culture. Check it out if you get a chance! I found it on MAX.

Another thing I love about Judy’s makeup is how the makeup artist from the movie, Dottie Ponedel, goes all the way to Judy’s blush. I wish I could wear this much in real life because I love blush, but these days, I feel like putting on too much makes me look bananas. If I could drag it though, I’d drag as much as I could, every day, all day, ha ha ha.
