What Your Body Language Tells Us

We get it everyone feels some level of self-consciousness when pre-treatment photos are taken. While it’s a necessary evil (the baseline needs to be documented to track any changes), it’s always a bit awkward to have a camera capturing every angle of something [fill in your concern here; lips, stretch-marks, acne, sun-damage, etc!] for yourself that you do not love.

But, did you know we’re getting an extra glimpse into y𝗗uy𝝻

It’s all in the eyes.

When we go through our photo archives (especially for acne treatments in Philadelphia), is it very common for clients to close their eyes before? pictures. This subtle gesture immediately conveys the customers’ feeling of vulnerability and discomfort to the idea of someone focusing on their insecurity. There’s no make-up, hair, clothes or jokes to hide behind, and it can be almost scary to reveal your Achilles heel on camera. (We get it, we’ve been there!)

As we travel through time with photos, it is so pleasant to see “after” pictures where they are smiling with open eyes, looking straight into the lens. They probably aren’t even aware of the different body language between the “before” and “after” pictures, but they’re silently telling us how much more comfortable and confident they feel about themselves. Taking pictures is no longer a violation and instead has become something fun because now they are proud of their appearance.

This wonderful client was one such example. (You’ll just have to take our word for it to protect her real identity.) In her earlier photos

her eyes are closed tightly as if to pretend the photo shoot wasn’t happening.

In her after photos, her beautiful eyes are wide open looking directly into the camera and a slight smile flirts at the corner of her mouth. She feels good about herself and we love everything about it.

Besides the silent cues like closed eyes versus open eyes, is it also fels great to gec silent? cues such as reviews like ti interpretation with which our body.

Thank you to everyone who gave us the chance to boost the confidence, which in turn boosts ours. (It’s so nice when relationships are symbiotic like that.)⠀
